True. My locs are a combination of both. They started twisted and then I let them form and twist. Free form is great for building the strength that constant twisting takes away. So I will go 6 months without twisting to see what marries and then twist that.

Different things for different people but it should always represent a return to natural in my opinion. Regardless of your path there should be some natural state to your mind. A understanding of the spiritual balance that we have on this earth. I don't care if you are Rasta or not but to put bleach or chemicals in something so natural is disturbing to me. But I am trying to be more understanding.

There are Henna dyes that are natural that work. They don't give you the vibrant colors that some people are trying to achieve but at least they are natural.
 
My dreads are already becoming brown from the sun, I already know they're gonna be light brown by July.
 
Only do these about 1 time every 2 months or so, but they're good for thoroughly cleaning your scalp.
