RIP Mac Miller

A little off topic, but when did being a straight up drug addict become a cool thing. Even with weed shit is crazy nowadays. Niggas been smoking weed for forever. They certainly were on it when I was still in high school, but the niggas that acted like they couldn't go a day without getting high used to get clowned for being junkie idiots. Nowadays, people are proud of that shit. What's that all about for real?

I honestly think a lot of it was Wayne’s influence, all these kids grew up idolizing him

So we gon act like pills didn't take Jimi out?

I think the difference between now & then is there isn't as much of a curtain

Yeah he was the poster boy of that shit. DJ Screw didn't quite have the widespread appeal, but the movement he started was pretty big too.
Ah man the list is endless
Three 6 mafia always rapped about hard drugs
Em with pill addiction
Chance the rapper w acid rap
Gucci mane made a lot of reference to being high on pills

The list goes on and on.

And i think with rap becoming more pop culture and also more emo, goes hand in hand with the drugs involved

There wasn't a glorification of it through the songs though. Sure it was part of the lifestyle, but artists didn't really write a ton of songs about being on drugs, and when they did they were subtle for the most part.

I didnt know Mac even did hard drugs.

I knew he was a stoner but he didnt rap about drugs like that on the couple albums ive heard from him

I got into his music late....his early shit doesnt seem like he was into harder than weed/liquor. But by the time i caught on to his music he kinda had a dope user vibe about him.

I think he spoke about depression n shit on some vice documentary. I think rick rubin helped him get clean once before. Dont think this was suicide by OD tho. Maybe just bad shit or overdid it. Who knows.

Curious what toxicology report will say it was.

I'm not just talking about celebrity deaths. Celebrities been finding ways to kill themselves for centuries. I'm talking about the general attitude towards drug use now. It just seems different.
