If The Writers & Directors Are White, Is It A Black Show/Movie?

He was a plot device. He got the ball rolling, but it did not centralize around him. He was there, but he was not the focus of each season.

He essentially has an issue at the beginning of the season, and then the show would dive into that problem offering and exposing a deeper understanding of what it was he was bothered by.
He pointed out the every problem and then worked on that problem, that's a main character.

I was trying to split this off into a different thread but gonna need Goldie post in the op to make it work but the question posed is a thread by itself🤔

It's okay bruh. They may be on the same Internet, but these niggas was not in the same classes as us during school.

I kno

cuz they actually taught us definitions & meanings of words

for example

if you write a letter, you wouldn't call the body of the letter the heading or signature

jus like in a movie/tv show, you wouldn't call the setting a character

I get the symbolism

but no

I’ve seen a few shows that were created by black creators that came across to me as people who know black people but don’t know black people.

A lot of 50’s production come across like that to me. Arron Mcgrugers “black Jesus” was like that to me.

I’m amazed really now when I consider the times, how in-depth into the black experience Fresh Prince Of Bel Air was.

I don’t think it’s a matter of race as much as it is a matter of how genuine does the creator want to be, allowed to be, can be, or has the desire to be.

Artist are weird and fickle people who see their creations through the lense of how people see their children. Sometimes what they want to present, doesn’t translate to others not capable of getting their intent.

The creator of The Wire has said Baltimore itself is the main character. Hence why you get seasons like season 2.

Way too many times these threads have legs b/c of negroes egos

All you gotta do is just walk off on a nigga

a man wearing glasses and a plaid sweater is talking to another man

Did you have trouble reading the words the show creator wrote?

There were quite a few of them, and I understand niggas struggle sometimes when overwhelmed.
