We watched McNulty go to work, get off work, get drunk, and have relations damn near every episode.

David Simon was more of a producer, but the main consultant on the show was Ken Burns.


Not the PBS Ken Burns, but the Ken Burns who was a real-life detective in the Western District of Baltimore.

From what I can remember, McNulty was largely based on Ken Burns.


And almost all the characters and scenarios in the Wire were loosely based on people and cases he was a part of while being a detective.

Ok. I started off being low key cool,

I agreed that McNulty was more of a main character than Omar or stringer ... But I originally left it at, I prefer the narrative of THE main character being the city of Baltimore.. Because that's the truer narrative of the show ...I broke down earlier how each season specifically addressed the corruption in the city of Baltimore, and how it was all connected... Which is the shows entire premise and take away.... But.... Cuz y'all slow NIGGAZ wanna nig.... Let's explore the narrative if the fucking show was TRULY about fucking McNulty:

Season 1: he's a drunk ass cop who feels he has a personal vendetta against this elusive criminal in Stringer Bell. He gets the favor of an old judge he was friends with and through those connections...he was able to take down stringer's #1 and told stringer... Next time... It's you.

Great story for season 1, IF you consider McNulty the main character of season 1. And you know what. I don't fault you here... because.. Yeah. McNulty was that dude season 1.

Let's go into season 2
 
Season fucking 2:

McNulty..with his bullshit, is now working on the docks.. He meets Ginger, they start fucking, he finds a body, does some math to make it Baltimore body, investigation leads to connections to the same drug trade he targeted in season 1.

End of fucking season
 
Season 3:

McNulty finds out dangelo is dead. He makes it his personal mission to make sure dangelo mom's finds out, cuz he know it'll fuck Stringer's life up


END OF THE FUCKING SEASON FOR MCNULTY
