If this was anyother fighter/promoter split I would shrug my shoulders and back the fighter but this is crazy news...
Conor Benn is a full on SNAKE for this... Their whole deal was based on handshakes and not having contracts too...
I'll be one of the first to slag Eddie off, like most promoters but he literally brought a privileged Conor Benn into boxing, a guy who had never even had a real fight and set him up with everything he needed to train like a professional down with Tony Sims/Matchroom gym, who incidentally looked after him like a son in the UK whilst Nigel Benn and the rest of his family lived in Australia... Tony is the same guy who trained his father too...
The main thing though is Eddie got shelled by backing Conor during the failed PED saga, took a reputational (and financial) hit and leant him LOTS of cash when he couldnt fight during the PED years... Eddie was getting battered daily in the national TV, radio, podcast and print news for standing by Conor... He also spend a fortune turning Conor, who is a bang average fighter into a star and made a domestic - European at best level fighter, real superstar money...
Its just mental he left without speaking to Eddie man to man and saying 'Look Ed, this is life changing money, youre family but I need to take this offer'...
