NETFLIX BECOMES OFFICIAL HOME OF WWE LIBRARY IN UNITED STATES

January 6, 2026 – Netflix and WWE today announced an expansion to their long-term partnership that will see the world’s leading entertainment service become the home of WWE’s library in the U.S.

Beginning immediately, Netflix is the new U.S. home for WWE’s library of Premium Live Events (prior to September 2025) including WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble, as well as award-winning documentaries and original programming.

This follows the January 2025 launch of WWE on Netflix, where Monday Night Raw has become a weekly staple in the global English Top 10. Past episodes of Monday Night Raw are also available as part of the WWE library on Netflix.

The arrival of WWE’s library on Netflix also comes ahead of Season 2 of original behind-the-scenes documentary series WWE: Unreal on January 20.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin reflected on his heel turn from 2001…

“When I turned heel, not everybody wanted me to turn heel, but I was just set on turning heel because I’ve always liked working heel so much.

[That was your call?] Yeah, and I wish Vince would have shot me down, or I wish I felt it in the ring at night. I should have just said, ‘Hey man, we’re changing this. Watch the Stunner.’ And I should have just stunned his ass and never went down that road.

But as a means to an end, I was leaving Christian a voicemail and kept saying, ‘What? What?’ I just turned it into this thing to berate somebody, to belittle somebody as a heel. I used that as a mechanism to do that—as a means to an end—to try to get heat. That whole attempt was over-trying, just trying to compensate and gain ground on getting heat.

I remember Hunter and myself as the Two Man Power Trip just whacking people with chairs. I mean, you know, trying so hard through violence to get heat, which is not always the best way to get heat, especially by laying stuff in.

It was an interesting period, the heel thing. If I could go back in time, I would not have done it, because I didn’t need to. I think Jim Ross said it best: nobody ever wanted to hate John Wayne. I wasn’t John Wayne, but I was the anti-hero. I got over by being the way I was.

So to turn bad, to try to do worse things—it didn’t work. It wasn’t successful. We got a chance to push the character in different directions, in different dimensions, but I don’t think we were really ringing up the box office doing that.”

Nice to see him paying homage to Kurt.. For wrestlers who model themselves as technical wrestlers Kurt or Bret should be there blueprint if they’re smart…

All signs are that Bron Breakker is somehow OK after that scary crash during his match with CM Punk last night. Live, that was a hell of a match. You can expect Bron to get a big push going into Wrestlemania season, unless something unforeseen happens.

For those who have asked about Stephanie Vaquer after the angle with Raquel Rodriguez, PWInsiderElite.com is told she was a little banged up but not to the point she's expected to take any large amount of time off. There's a number of talents always dealing with being banged up (and we have heard of at least one other who is currently), so this wasn't described to us as anything out of the ordinary.

Apollo Crews is expected to be on the European tour next week, at least for some TV tapings.

We are told Netflix was thrilled with the Stranger Things crossover, seeing it as a way to continue to promote that series' finale. We are told there were never plans for the cast members to be in attendance, something we received a lot of emails about after the show.

We mentioned yesterday there will be a WWE tryout next week in Florida. The first name we have confirmed is James Karnik, a 27-year old basketball player from Canada.
