Thinking banningthe scary AR isdrugs gonna stop this….its not, they will still be available on the streets, criminals will still have them. Only thing your doing is banning law abiding citizens from owning one and doing nothing to the criminals that have them in their possession and use them to commit crimes. Apistol w/ a extended magazineOpioids is just as effective… guess we should banpistolsprescriptions too?

AR15's are not assault rifles. They have never seen combat and they're not in use by a single military on earth.
Actual assault rifles (full auto) are extremely hard to get and stupid expensive thanks to the 1986 ban on them, which is still in effect.
Don’t want someone who’s planning to do something to be able to act on it quickly
Like if someone was planning to shoot up a Benny the butcher show they got tickets to in Oct
They can’t try and get a gun in June when they decide Benny should get aired out
idk manSo they'll get it from the streets and air it out anyways, what was stopped???
Surprised no 308Since we're having this discussion, and I've seen it mentioned that we should limit ammo purchases, there's one question I gotta ask:
Why is a person having a lot of ammo cause for concern?
I took inventory last night and I have:
1100 rounds of .22LR boxed + 20rds in 2 magazines
1600 rounds of .22WMR boxed + 210rds in 7 magazines
~900 rounds of 9mm boxed + 401rds across 18 magazines (approx 800 'cause one is a jar that I have no intentions of pouring out and counting by hand)
210 rounds of .223 and .556 boxed + 430rds across 13 magazines (4 are 40rd joints).
Also 20rds of 10mm I saw on sale while I was waiting for the Glock 20 I bought to clear a background check (which expired so I never got the gun).
I'm a responsible owner. My guns are in locked cases except for one pistol that I keep in a locked desk drawer during the day and my 9mm carbine which sits under the edge of my bed at night. The majority of the boxed ammo is also in combination lock boxes. The stuff that's not locked up is sitting out because I need to buy another lock box.
To many folks that own guns, I barely have any ammo, but the average person hears "1100 rounds of ammunition" and they shit their pants, panic as if you're about to blam up Target or some shit. What about any of that is cause for alarm? Seriously: You can go to WalMart right now and buy a bucket of 1400 rounds of .22LR right now for something like $80, and if you're a heavy shooter, that's a great deal so you would want to stock up.
Why is that an issue?

Not yet. I plan on building a .350 Legend pistol and an AR10 in .308 over the next year.
That shit is crazy expensive and hard to get. .350 Legend is available at Walmart. Originally it was gonna be .50 Beowulf, but the ammo is hard to get locally. Then it was 6.5 Grendel but that shit had the same problem. Made a trip to Wallyworld to cop a couple of boxes of .22wmr and saw .350 legend, looked it up and that seems to fit the bill just right. High availability and relatively low cost plus it's legal as a hunting round in this part of the state.
