I missed your alien civilization conversation. But have you guys considered that we're the most intelligent civilization in the universe and space travel has only gone as far as we've made it?
Uh I mean it’s possible but I think the probability is too low

I understand the random circumstances that led to us existing but I think just from sheer number and probability there

The Big Bang was like 13 billion years ago and there was like 7 billion years that passed before earth even formed

In those 7 billion years what if random events happened that led to life forming somewhere else that got billions of years as a head start?

What if the observable universe is only 2% of the entire universe and there’s parts of the universe where one life form is the size of galaxy

It’s just too much we don’t know about so I can’t really consider us to be the only advanced civilization

But what you said could be true for all we know

Random thought but whomever made Amy Schumer famous or said she was funny should be arrested
it's the thighs bruh

earlier in her career she was peak butterface white girl status

but mofos was looking at her legs and getting distracted

she leveled up using that 1 feature now here we are reaping the consequences of man's fallible nature 🙁

That's interesting....I never considered that... I've always figured our social divided hindered us.

If the entire human race was in a untied effort, we'd be further as a collective than we currently are in competition with other countries.

I also think in the billions of years before we existed, we missed a whole lotta shit.

Which is why we spend so much of our resources on entertainment. Science fiction is fragments of our subconscious trying to remember shit that happened in the universe before humans became dominant on earth. The more popular sky is the more relatable and closer to shit that really happened

I had to Google her and these legs you speak of and sadly you may be right. I blame all of you heathens and your quest to make a thick leg unredeemable faced white girl a hot commodity.

Shame!!!!

This isn't making sense tho. Can you provide an actual example of this?

There's a theory that suggests that all civilizations hit a point called The Great Filter where something happens (likely through the fault of that civilization) that wipes out that civilization and keeps it from progressing further. Some believe that we're nearing that point.

Look up the Fermi Paradox, there are actually a lot of proposed reasons for why we don't see any sign of alien life.

One obvious reason is the simple size of the universe. Ursa Major 3 is the nearest galaxy to us and it's about 33,000 light years away. Let's say there is a civilization there that started creating RF technology 10,000 years before us. It's going to take another 20,000+ years for those signals to reach us. They've got 10K years on us, so they'd probably be much more advanced. Even if they've achieved light speed travel, they still couldn't visit us in a reasonable amount of time. The reality is, the universe could have plenty of civilizations at our level, and we'd never know.

and nothing can travel faster than the speed of light so it’s possible somebody is on their way to earth now

And they’ll never reach it while earth still exists

I know about all of that. It's just fascinating to me that the simplest thing can't be true in many people's eyes... that we are, will be the first. I don't understand why that idea is overlooked when the topic of space exploration comes up.

I think ppl just want to feel optimistic in the sense that we aren’t alone and that we are apart of something bigger or they just assume we can’t be just because it’s a numbers game

I'm not saying we're alone tho. I'm saying what if we're the most intelligent civilization in space and have advanced space travel further than anyone else to this point? It's just funny to me that's not ever considered.

Well alone in similar intelligence lol

But yeah I get you

I think it’s just because we haven’t been around for a long time compared to the rest of the universe is why we think that
