I’ve had this same question as an African living in the US.
I’ve heard this same thing multiple times too.

I remember about two years ago I was taking a co-worker home and he mentioned how he’s been told that Africans don’t mess with Black Americans, but then over the weeks every story he’s told me about his interactions with Africans were positive.

I think a lot of shit is from some media although I feel on tv it was more Black Americans not wanting to mess with Africans. Africa kids like any other group caught the jokes and all that. But then you see stuff saying Nigerians are smarter than Black Americans more accomplished. Saying shit like we have no culture. But then I see the America side saying Africans are backwards and etc. and I feel like this some shit designed by white folks.


Twitter and tiktok. But I can’t discount how shit goes in more diverse areas.
