since childhood I always heard older black Americans say "Africans don't like us either". It always went in one ear out the other like nahhh. Then when I got older in life and heard it I processed it more and still was like nah.. but as I've gotten older older I see that shit is true and has always been true. Pan-africanism has always been one-sided and that's why delineation is a must going forward.
I really don’t think it’s a big amount of Africans that don’t fuck with us I mean that’s millions of people who probably don’t think about us. But Black people literally come from Africa most of us can’t pass for anything else.
Not to sound like Umar. I don’t think all the African Disaspora has to think the same but do y’all feel it’s an actual beef between us Caribbeans and Africans or just indifference?
I’ve had this same question as an African living in the US.
I’ve heard this same thing multiple times too.
I remember about two years ago I was taking a co-worker home and he mentioned how he’s been told that Africans don’t mess with Black Americans, but then over the weeks every story he’s told me about his interactions with Africans were positive.
