It's been over 60 years since the Civil Rights Movement and not shit has improved or changed in regards to the material conditions of Black people because motherfuckers believe you can talk about multiple things, do multiple things, and determine multiple things are important...all at once.

The "ski mask conversation" is fucking stupid.

The fact that people got together, sat in a room, and said, "We should ban ski masks", highlights how unserious politics are for Black people.

If I lived in Philly and I found out my councilperson voted for this shit, I would vote them out because they are fundamentally unserious ass person.

Not only did the city council of Philly decided to criminalize young Black men, they decided to rob them of $250 for wearing fucking clothes.

And anybody thinks that shit makes sense or it's reasonable needs a reality check.

Y'all scared of young Black men walking around in ski masks because y'all live in a damn ghetto or adjacent to it and you know motherfuckers ain't got nothing and they gonna take whatever shit y'all got.

And a real thug ain't gonna give a fuck about no fine and take your shit anyway.

Ain't no jacker or no killer gonna be like, "Oh wait, I'ma get fined because I got a ski mask on. Let me decide not to rob your ass today."

Nah, you still gonna come off it. So basically, this "ski mask ban" is a way for the city to release all of the anger and frustration that the Black population have on to the backs of young Black men. Young Black men are always gonna be the scapegoat when it comes to crime and poverty. It's never the people in charge.
 
This is what I call the "Crime Bill Cycle"

Wealth inequality is sky high -> Crime is sky high -> White people get scared -> New Tough on Crime Bill -> Cops brutalize Black people -> Black people protest -> Policing is laxed -> Wealth inequality is still high -> Crime is still high -> Black people get scared -> New Tough on Crime Bill

Every city goes through this shit every 8 years. The country goes through it every 20 years. And it's really just a way for cities with major Black populations to purge.

At a certain point...instead of everything else...Black folks gotta just focus on wealth inequality and stay there. Don't run off and talk about two parent homes, religion, personal choices, education, and financial literacy or whatever the fuck.

The conversation needs to be, "Why Black Americans as a whole, can't get ahead, no matter what we do?"

When your income and wealth is stagnant over generations, you really just kicking the can down the road for your kids kids to figure out why they can't advance in society like everyone else seems too.

I've watched you stupid fucks, in here arguing about how somehow athletic leisure wear is synonymous with black people. And cry, whine, bitch, and moan about restaurants not accepting customers in that apparel.

But now you don't see a problem with police having permission to stop and harass anything they deem to be problematic face covering. They aren't stopping at ski masks, this means balaclava as well. Notice it doesn't include gaiters, which with the addition of certain styles of hats provides for the exact same level of concealment.

They won't stop everyone, it won't be applied uniformly. This means....They're going to profile motherfuckers. Got a knitted beanie? Might be a ski mask.
Got a Durag or wave cap, might be a ski mask.
Hoodie and neck gaiter. No problem. FOH

A fine for wearing a fucking ski mask will not stop a criminal from putting one on to commit a crime.
