Are samples getting lazier today?

They've definitely hit a new low, but it has been going on. When DJ Khaled was butchering shit all throughout the 2010s I just tuned out music altogether.

You want them to dig in the crates when there’s no record stores lol

Buy 'em at second hand shops. They usually sittin' on a grip of vinyl. I've started checking out other types of music for samples and finding some really interesting shit to flip. I just grab shit 5-10 at a time and check it out when I get to the crib. I always find something to fuck with no matter who I grab (even found a lil joint on an 80's Bob Denver album).

The cats like Alchemist, 9th Wonder, DJ Premier, Beatminerz, et al never stopped digging. The difference is now they're buying from the few record stores left in existence, thrift shops, and yard sales. I got my copes of Shaft and Songs In The Key of Life at a yard sale for $1 each.

Word but I’m talking about the vast majority of producers and the mainstream ones that are under hmmm…40 years old
