Welcome To aBlackWeb

Da Brat AND her wife decided to use a white sperm donor claiming a shortage of Black men in the sperm donor pool

Sperm donation shouldn’t be a thing

Get rid of that entire industry

lol I don't fully agree, but I get the sentiment.

The shit just seems weird to me. My sperm is for me to push my bloodline. What I look like giving it away to someone else to create my kids and raise them without me. Imagine one of these bitter black man hating chicks getting your sperm, and then raising a son that hates you, himself, and every other dude like you. Nah

Didn't Eboni Williams basically say she chose her career over having a family? If that's what she wanted to do, that's fine, but why should she have the option of going and getting some sperm and then bring a child into a single parent household, which is a situation that all that data shows is bad for the child.?

Because she's an adult who can decide if and when she wants to bring a child into this world. Same as any other person who decides to raise bring a child into this world and raise them whether single or not.

lol Except at a fundamental level, she literally can't do that. Society has created an infrastructure that allows her to do that, but the idea that I was responding to was that such an infrastructure shouldn't exist.

Lol bruh dudes make kids they don’t take care of since forever. Sperm being used to get a woman preganant when her husband cannot conceive is not a bad thing. This fantasy you made up of a man hating mother carrying a boy child to term of a sperm donor is some possible but not likely shit.

If she want married and had a kid with a guy it still a single parent thing if they break up. I don’t see how that relates to sperm clinics at all.

1) Dudes being deadbeat dads is not a good thing so I'm not even sure why you brought that up like it counters something.
2) I said I didn't really agree with the idea that sperm donation shouldn't be a thing, scenarios like the one you mentioned are part of the reason why.
3) lol What? This whole "I can't find a good enough man to raise children with, so I'm going to do it myself" mindset is actually growing in popularity. It's not all that unlikely that a chick like that could have a child. Now whether those women are considered man hating or not is debatable, but I don't think it's out of this world to suggest that there may be some bitterness involved there. That said, I was speaking about a nightmare scenario not necessarily what I thought was the most likely outcome.
4) I don't know what your last couple sentences have to do with anything I said.

No she still can because if sperm clinics didn't exist she still has the ability to go have sex and conceive a child and still raise that child as a single parent if she chooses to. The way children are conceived gives her the opportunity to do that not society's infrastructure because women been raising kids as single parents for thousands of years

That's more or less still sperm donation. She has to basically find a guy that is willing to help her create a child and then give up all rights to that child. Admittedly, that's probably not that hard in today's world though. Even so, if a woman goes that route, she still needs a functioning second party for that initial act, and in that case, there is at least the possibility that she could come to some agreement with that man about his presence in the child's life that might work better for the benefit of the child. That's not even a possibility through a clinic. And yes, you're right, women have been raising kids as single parents for a long time, but that wasn't voluntary in most cases and it's also why we have reams of data showing that statistically it's not a scenario that works out in the best interests of the child.

I agree that a child having both parents is optimal. What I disagree with was your statement questioning why a person even has the right or option to become a single parent by choice. That's not really for you or anyone else to question. That's just a basic human right. Unless we putting limits on procreation and want people to pass certain qualifications in order to reproduce.

I think you're still missing the context of my initial. I wasn't saying that Eboni or any other woman shouldn't have the right to procreate. I was responding to the statement that sperm donorship shouldn't exist. I don't necessarily agree with that statement, but I do think it's somewhat wise to have a system in place that enables people to bring children into the world under circumstances that the data tells us is usually bad for them.

Procreation is a basic right, but two parties being part of that process is kinda baked into the process, and there seems to be good reason for that.
