Welcome To aBlackWeb

Mom of two killed over refund check.

this is so important because you know what? I dont, I dont engage in group think
i don't necessarily think its group think, but i do think being aware and accepting that you don't think like most people is essential to one's personal sanity

Groupthink occurs when a group values harmony and coherance over accurate analysis and critical evaluation.”

what happens on here daily is no other than group think

we don't value harmony or coherence over accurate analysis...

we just have similar opinions on certain shit, we argue with each other on other shit all the damn time....

it just happens that sometimes you're on the opposite side if an argument as the majority.....but just because you're on the opposite doesn't mean everybody else is afraid to step outta norm

that's a cop out....

not gonna fly

naw, that's lazy.....

not gonna let u get away with lazy..

you tryna find a 'reason" why you always disagreeing with people outside of you...

you already agreed you sometimes think different than most people.. y not just settle with that???

i often clash with mad people..i don't accuse all of them of group thinking or thinking alike, i'm jsut on the outside of a certain argument.....

was everybody thinking alike or sharing groupthink in the black panther thread when it was du vs 40+???

i routinely accept the possibility i could be wrong, but i stand by my points.....

you be standing by your points too...and that's mad admirable... but that doesn't mean everybody else on some bullshit....

:hedidit:

stop that

No, the majority of us think rationally when it comes to shit like this. I think a lot of us cats on this side of the debate were raised in the hood. Coming up in the hood you know there's rules on how to conduct yourself and those rules exist for a reason; to keep you safe. Even the slightest violation of those rules can turn you into a victim. She violated one of the cardinal rules of the streets: Don let anybody know what you're holding. She paid for this with her life.

That's a fucked up thing to happen but there is never a reason to have 3k on you. What was so important she needed that money then. I'm not absolving the jackasses that took her life but people gotta move better than that and not put an obvious target on yourself
100% agree,

and i never agree with this nigga.. in fact we have classic and routine clashes... but this just some shit that we happen to agree on...

her co-worker grimey as shit, and i hope she get as much time as you can get for that shit.....

how grimey you gotta be to work at a dollar tree and orchestrate a chick you see everyday to get murked???

grimey as fuck......and that's even more reason imo, to NEVER let niggaz kow how much money you moving around with

hmmm I think a lot of ppl victim blame or jump to discussing what the victim/survivor should have done differently because they belive in the idea that people deserve whatever outcome/consquences they are face with on some “everything happens for a reason” type shit

whereas, I dont believe a lot of the time ppl deserve what happens to them.

I read somewhere that victim blaming was a common theme for americans because the “American Dream” is heavily instilled in us, this idea that all of us are in control of our own destinies, that it makes it hard for us to grapple with the fact that alot of the times bad things DO happen to good ppl.

That unforseeable things happen to ppl and more often than not, it was out of their control

so to answer your question (lol) I guess as a coping mechanism or even out of fear we try to hold victims responsible for their “misfortune” to avoid admitting that something just as unthinkable could happen to us, even if we seemingly did everything “right.”

I think we blame victims so that we can continue to feel safe and secure in a world that we all know to be very “unpredictable.”

Now, if someone is engaging in risky behaviors and is aware of the consquences that can occur, thats something totally different—-

But a young girl being gunned down on the sidewalk over a refund check is just a careless act of violence and we should more or so rush to empathize with her and not do the whole “wow thats sad but if she only”

I mean thats the same thing white folks do when we are gunned down by cops lol textbook the same exact thing.

Its the lack of empathy for her that bothered me in APs and Elzos responses

and I have to wonder if yall are socialized to not emapthize with her right away because shes a Black girl or because the ppl who killed her are Black

Im not being accusatory just wondering...

Not to be callous against the victim at all as this was a senseless crime, but you don't think walking around with that amount of money in cash in a shady area when people know you holding is risky behavior?

She had to be aware that there could be I'll consequences for said actions. RIP to the victim as she certainly didn't deserve this but sometimes you have to account for the craziness of the world in your decisions.

iight yall back the fuck up off race jones........ niggaz ganging up on her now.....shit ain't that serious.....

Ya'll dudes could have made the point that there are things she could have done to protect herself without making it sound like it was her fault this happened. I agree that people who realize how fucked up this world is should know to behave in a way for their own protection. However, just because you behave differently from that standard doesn't mean it's your fault or right when something fucked up happens to you.

Yeah I think you may be right. I think a difference in background may be reason for different sides of this argument. RIP to girl once again, but pretty much anybody who from the hood would of said what she did put herself at risk.
