This a horrible take. Good Career? Your first few words of your second sentence contradict that. Not many can say they've had the run he has. He 1st ballot, @Gene Parmesan stole my comparison i was go make lol
Maybe

I'm not trying to get too much into the weeds about the discussion or analogies but my main point was that he doesn't have to have a classic album to be considered a good/great artist because not everyone is going to have a classic album in their discography.

Gotta do it for both threads:

Kanye's verse on "Life of the Party" or 7AM On Bridle Path.....which is the better diss?

I don't think a classic is required unless you're talking about a true GOAT, but consistency means a lot too. 50 has a classic but would never be considered for a goat because he hasn't been consistent even when he did release music.

I mean he said he leaked the track to give better context to the Papi's Home track, which it did. Now was it worth it? eh, I don't think so.

Not this shit. It's already backfired on him.

Well... I would have done the exact same shit Drake did. I aint gon' hold you.

Because either way, the track was gonna leak. Should Drake give the other side the satisfaction and rubbing their hands in the midst of CLB releasing? Fuck no lol.

The hip-hop community went nuts over the leak, from Drake! Just imagine if Kanye tweeted the link to the diss instead. He'd shut shit down and CLB would be buried as I said before.

lol what is this based on?

Contradiction

"We should sit down before shit turns ugly
We should sit down since you said shit about me" - love all

"Actin like they can fix it with the meetin
all that linking up man I'll see him when I see ya" - no friends in the industry

Lol they probably was recorded w a good amt of time between, I first heard Love All back in 2020

I can't believe I'm saying this but y'all do realize not every artist is going to have a general consensus classic right?

The certified classic albums appear to be albums that naturally evolved into classics. I can't think of a classic where the artist went in saying, you know what, I'm going to make a classic for this project.

So Drake doesn't have a classic album. Ok. Is he the best? No. Is he trash? Not imo. I would rather listen to most of his work over a lot of people.

If you don't bang with this album, that's ok but using the classic metric is crazy cause how many classic albums come out a year? That's a serious ass question.

We are a long way from the Jays, X's, Nas, CMR, etc of them all dropping fire ass projects in the same year. People need to stop having that classic or nothing mentality when it comes to judging music.

My two pennies

I personally stopped waiting for the classic drake album. He has the tools and resources to possibly pull it off, but he not interested in that route. The guy has a redundant yet effective formula and I respect his talent. But he making microwave music w no real replay value

Therein lies the problem lol

You've been waiting for a classic album instead of just rocking with it and seeing if over time, it gains classic status.

Finally got around to this.

2.5/5

Drake should release albums when he's rapping under Drake and the albums where he's singing, he should release them under Aubrey.

That way people know exactly what they are getting ahead of time. When he's rapping introspective raps, those are the joints I enjoy the most. 7am is fire. Not a wasted bar on there.

He needed more features like the Project Pat/21 Savage feature. If him and Lil baby gonna be doing tracks together, I want them to be like "Yes indeed". I don't need both of them trying to sing on a track.

And I'ma just say this here while I'm on the topic of wasted features, I'm not sure what the industry sees in Lil Durk, but he keeps getting these features on these big projects and keeps fuckin them up. I haven't heard a single song or feature from him that I thought was good. Not sure who he related to in the industry, but I don't know why he keeps getting looks. He sounds like Dej Loaf. They still dating?

Anyway. I'ma keep a couple tracks and keep it moving
