Breaking News New York City will require proof of vaccination to enter all restaurants and fitness centers, Mayor Bill de Blasio announces.

I'mma say this and be done

I said "this ain't that" b/c this disease is and has been looked at as being "like a really bad flu" or some variation of the common cold. Let's say for the sake of argument, it was....well it's not now and what worked 6 months ago isn't working and won't work now. This shit mutates quick as hell.

Every morning, between 7:30 and 7:45, I sign in to read updates on "the latest numbers" and all things COVID, that have been generated in the last 24-36 hours (not from news outlets, abridged version ofc & it's still a lot)...I sign in to the system @8 to start talking to patients. At some point during the day I'm gonna get another update(s) that tells us to disregard earlier info, here's the update on how to treat/what to do when you get a patient who presents with XYZ symptoms/comorbidity etc. Point being, this shit mutates so quickly that the "discovery" process is ongoing damn near from moment to moment. So when someone says the vaccine isn't doing what it's supposed to do, they're right in that, under "normal"/the best of circumstances, it would work as a vaccine should. These aren't the best of,nor normal circumstances b/c this disease isn't "normal" and this very real pandemic has been handled like we aren't in one.

It *seems* like vaxxers are saying if you don't get *this* vaccine you're antivaxx and *you're* the ones infecting the vaxxed. LOL Those who are questioning *this* vaccine are saying, I don't feel comfortable getting it *now*, I'd rather wait for _____. But I'm not really opposed. ABVs (already been vaxxed) *still * say you're antivaxx, even tho you point to "credible" info, that *for you (general)* is enough to hesitate about getting *this* vaccination. Annnd still have been masked up, social distancing, etc. Your (again, general) info isn't credible *enough* for ABVs.

There are too many variables that won't allow for just one way to deal with this virus. The disease itself is new (Novel Coronavirus) and these latest variants are even newer and, again, what worked 6-7 months ago, isn't working now...and unless and until there is a nationwide/global plan put into place to contain this shit...we're gonna stay on this merry go round.

I saw on the news last night that they've been putting pressure to get the FDA to give full approval for the Pfizer vaccine and they're like "nope, not until we have enough data, and we don't". Once that full approval is in I'll be in line for it, but until then it's the same as it was last year: Mask, wash my hands when I come in the crib, 6ft distancing, and no crowds.

Ill also say this.

Like I distrust "data" as much as yall do. I dont trust scientists, i dont trust the govt, etc.

What I do trust is my eyes and ears.

Scientists keep telling us the shit is safe using emperical data. Basically, shit they discovered in labs after tons of testing. that shit is cool and that shit is not cool. When im reading about the solar system, that shit is cool. When im deciding on getting a vax? Not cool.

For me, im a fan of observational data. Basically meaning I dont care what anyone has to say, ill do my own observation.

And thats what I did. I waited till a bunch of people I personally knew took the vax. Checked up on them and saw they were good. Waited a bit more. More people I knew got it. None of them got weird side effects, so I decided to trust it and got it. And now im fine too.

I just wish more people did this. Like stop letting facebook, twitter, fox, and cnn tell you how to feel and think about shit. Instead, look for yourself and observe the shit and see what you find.

This is not true. People still get the measles, but their vaccine prevents them from getting bad.

I think only 2-3% of vaccinatef people get a bad case of measles. Other either dont get it, or are asymtomatic.

Just like 99.999% of people dying from covid since the vaccine came out are not vaccinated.

There are still people catching covid with vaccines because covid is one of the most contagious viruses and a ton of people are still carrying it.

Actually, the experts change based on what they learn. With this virus being so new, they were learning new shit rapidly. Case in point, masks. At first, it was don't wear masks because based on prior knowledge, it can't spread asymptomatically. To my knowledge, no other coronavirus did. Once they realized there was asymptomatic spread, they said wear masks.

This Delta strain. They didn't know that vaccinated people could spread it because past variants did not spread from vaccinated people. They removed mask guidance for vaccinated people. Delta said fuck that, I'm spreading. Now they are saying vaccinated wear masks.

And you want experts to update their guidance based on new info. You don't want them to be like politicians who only care about saving face and always concerned about "appearing" right. That's how people die and that's how cover-ups happen.

People don't want new information they want a one size fits all solution. That's why those who question any change or new development and try to use that as a way of discrediting something come off looking so foolish.

Just got a e-mail this afternoon from my job saying everyone is now required to get vaccinated by October. The non vaxxed at my job are all in a uproar...

don't know how they didn't see it coming. places that want their employees back on site (i.e. everywhere) will be making such requests.

my whole church caught it and a large majority of them refuse to vaccinate… the only ones that did only did so bc they had to for work…

a lot of them still have little to no smell or taste and one of the elders passed at her dining table after her covid sickness… complications w her heart.

they love “numbers” so they always talk about the covid death rate being insanely low.. but won’t take the vax bc of complications/death that is much lower than covid… lol it’s hard staying in a church sometimes.

At this point, fuck em. They’ve earned what they got.

I got The Rona last year. If this thing can stop me from going through that bullshit again, I’m smart enough to learn from my mistakes. If others aren’t, let em learn the hardest way possible.
