Posters who aint really from the city they claim?

I've never told anyone I wasn't from Baton Rouge. NEVER

If they don't know where that is, I'll say it's an hr outside of Nola.

Isn't Baton Rouge a pretty known city?
You would be surprised at how many people don't know where it is. I remember a woman ask me "how close is that to NOLA"... In the back of my mind I'm thinking, it's the capital of the state but it's Louisiana and if you never plan on visiting, you won't remember that after you leave middle school", so I wasn't that annoyed or whatever.

But there people from here that when they travel out of town tell people they are from Nola I guess to sound more interesting. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Wait, some va beach folk say DMV? DMV area is the metropolitan area. Yall like 3 hours away. Yall not included at all, lol. Seems like it would be pointless to say it and then explain yall are not a part of it.

we don’t at all. But if I go out of town more people know where dmv is compared to the beach.

Some people think DMV means the entire states of MD and VA which is why people get confused when they try to include Baltimore and random places in VA as part of DC. Alot of people who live in northern VA will tell you they're from or live in DC til you ask them where specifically

Like if I go out of town saying I’m from Hampton and as we saw in previous threads niggas don’t know where the states are sometimes you just say the most popular part so folks understand. If you live in an area that has a military base it’s common.

NOLA is like Detroit in that way; everybody knows Detroit, not a lot of people outside of the state knows Sterling Heights or Muskegon and it's always a reference point.

With Baltimore it's just different.
The buses, subways, neighborhood markets, the high school rilvaries, downtown pictures, the block.... There was just too much growing up that niggaz in the county can't relate to or don't know about to claim the city.
