Breaking News We can't catch a break: 16-year-old Makiyah Bryant shot and killed by a police officer in Columbus, Ohio. *Trigger Warning Body Cam Footage*

After watching the neighbors camera footage. It looks like the father and the police arrived around the same time. The fight broke out when they both arrived. I see why it got out of hand so quick, but I just couldn’t imagine watching my daughter fight. I just couldn’t allow it or jump in. I would have tried to break that shit up ASAP.
Link?

At the most break it up. But to kick a female let alone a teen in the head....
That says a lot about a dude.

The poor girl caught the ultimate L by keeping it real. I am confused about the whole story but if she knew the cops were coming and she running outside with a knife, what can you really say?

I'm not going back through 34 pages to look for it, but had it been mentioned that Ohio has a Stand Your Ground Law? And at the beginning of this year, that law was modified to allow a person to "stand their ground", using deadly force if they see fit, anywhere they are? Prior to the change, it had to be either on your property, or in/with your car. Now it's anywhere you find yourself.

Makiyah had every legal right to arm herself and defend herself from multiple attackers using deadly force.

If this is the case, that changes some things, however, does this include leaving then coming back out with a weapon?

Damn, I don't know. I'm more conflicted from that video. That shit happened fast, but from that vantage point he looks closer to it all than I thought based on the other video. I still think that by the time he made the shot, he didn't have much of a choice because she looked like she was about to stab the other chick. But I think the people saying that he could have restrained her before it got to that point might be right. When he saw that knife, he instantly went for the gun, and I don't believe he necessarily had to do that since she wasn't trying to attack him.

Yeah, that's been mentioned, and from what I've seen I don't think anyone really believes she didn't have the right to have the knife to defend herself.

So according to this story this kid was shot after his gf's mom reported him for beating her daughter. Cops find him in the bathroom at school and the kid had a gun on him in his hoodie. During the struggle his gun apparently goes off and a cop shoots him twice. Given the attitudes expressed in this thread death is also justified

What's up with ya'll and these random examples that are nothing like this case. Just stick to the facts in this case, why are ya'll reaching for all this external shit that doesn't add anything.

Assuming this person is black, as you probably did, it’s quite racist to assume their father walked out on them. Being anti-racist doesn’t just apply to white people, got to stop hating your own.
Whatever nigga

Yall are cowards.

Point blank

I'm actually shooting him bail by saying fatherlessness is the excuse
