They still hand picked Darnold though. Just via a trade

They didn’t hand pick anything. The Jets had to agree and I doubt that was their first choice.

they had to give up something to get something.

it ain’t the same

It’s a difference from trading for a player then hand picking one every year.

It’s not that hard to understand.

Bruh it's not different.

Not having a draft would be just another free agency. Except there would be one for Vets ( like there has been for 30 years) and one for incoming college or eligible players.

Unless you also believe the current free agency is bad as well.

ok...im asking b/c i legit dont know

who do you think sought out the trade?

if it was the jets, the panthers could've just said no...we're good with teddy and take their chances.

If it was the panthers, then they knew they were moving on from Teddy regardless

in either scenario, carolina agreed to it, thus they handpicked the guy they wanted.

you're arguing semantics when you dont have to

They settled on him bruh. They gave up capital so both teams have a shot on benefiting.

ok...lets try this

lets say they werent at the top part of the draft when they were ready to move on from cam and moved up by giving up picks/assets to get Darnold

is that still hand picked to you?

Im just trying to see how many ways you think there are to say tomatoe

Was the Saints a good team the last few years?

define last few years

if i remember the stat correctly, after this past seasons playoff loss, it was stated they've won the most games in the league over the past 5 years and failed to reach the SB at any point

what's your point.

Does Bama get their pick at top players?
uhhhh...hmmm

technically yes and no

b/c of the pedigree of their program, they attract the best players at their position. Alabama has been on a season wide recruiting mission, if they like them, offers a scholarship.

They pick who they want to recruit, yes

The athlete chooses to go there, yes

Alabama offers them a scholarship for choosing them, yes.

And if a NFL team get it rolling the same will happen.
