yeah the curfew - every night between 21:00 until 04:30 - that started last saturday was the final straw for a lot of folks. Been riots all over the country every night. Riot police all over here in Leiden lol.

basically a lot of (young) people are mad that the country is in lockdown for less than 3k hospital admissions (from which 600 are in the IC) on a population of 17 mill.

the elections are coming up and it looks like the right wing parties will win a lot of ground, one of the biggest opposition parties basically treats the Rona like it’s a hoax (Forum voor Democratie) and they’ve been pretty Trumpesque in their approach to the public. ‘Free the people etc etc’

Ironically, everyone and their mums thought the curfew was a foolish idea and predicted folks would riot but the coalition (which is demissionary at te moment ) and opposition are playing a dangerous game to win votes for the elections on March 17...

Thats wild, the world is going nuts... All these right way wankers seem inspired and fueled up since Trump got elected... Attacking hospitals and COVID testing centres is mental... Stay safe out their breda...
 
So now we’ve got a curfew at 21:00 but people won’t respect it and the police can’t enforce it nationally because they don’t have the manpower even though the current and previous coalitions ironically downsized the Dutch equivalent of the NHS and upscaled the police force lol.
