Do You Believe In Dinosaurs?

God confirmed his word and the work carried out by those appointed by him.
The Bible testifies it’s from God.
My question is have you checked or studied the Bible?

Men wrote everything in the bible. There is no evidence to the contrary.

Don't have me break out the ancient stories the bible is based off of.

You really don't want to go there. I don't want to attack your beliefs.

I have. A literal study of the bible. Grew up in the church. Southern Baptist. As I got older and started searching for truths, I realized the sham told to me.

You don't want to challenge me on the bible and the factual relevance of its contents.

Confirmed claims.

The standard isn’t that we believe a claim just because someone made it. It’s that we believe if the work backs up and supports the claims made. The Bible itself is a work that’s evident of this, but have you checked to see this yourself?

so you really believe someone lived inside a fish for 3 days?

:oreally:

You know whats even sadder? The fact that if you take the words used and look back at the Hebrew words used and shit, its more of a story of a guy caught up in a huge emotional turmoil, unable to move(kinda like depression) and when he finally works through it he's able to move on with life and be great. You can relate to that kinda story, can't relate to the literal one thats pushed.

That's not supposed to be taken literally.

I think the problem, or the misunderstanding, is that some people accept the Bible for what it is (a book of stories) while atheists and non believers can't grasp the concept that it isn't supposed to be taken literally.

Could a person live inside a whale for 3 days? of course not. But if you read the whole chapter there's probably a message in there.

The Bible is kinda like rap music. I love the stories but I don't believe all of them. But there are some rappers that are so good at story telling I can listen to them all day long. It's kinda similar to a person that goes to church on Sunday, and then goes to Bible studies during the week. Does that person believe the Bible literally? probably not, but they find peace in the idea of a savior that died for their sins. Like I said, I'm not Christian, but I don't have a problem with people that use the Bible to make a point.

Ok so you reject the work of God and the truth of his word.
If you determined to reject something what you expect me to do to change that? Lol

That’s kinda like throwing out the baby with the bath water.
The truth would have lead you out of the Baptist sect to finding a truly faithful gathering of God’s people... it wouldn’t have lead you away from the church altogether. You fell for one of the Devil’s traps. Same thing happened to one of my homeboys. As long as you reject the work of God (in this case the Bible) there’s nothing that will turn you back unfortunately unless you change your belief.

Nah i don’t want to debate about Horus, sun gods and all that other stuff ppl use to try and discredit the Bible as you already know my stance. I can tell you why I choose the Bible, but I don’t have to debate about a bunch of errors and false claims especially with someone that already have their mind made up against understanding anything from the truth of the one faith.

You do know it is widely accepted that those old Babylonian stories form the framework for the old testament.

Do you know how the various stories of the bible were put together? It was anything but 'divine'.

You may want to educate yourself on that first before you continue talking about the 'absoluteness' of a pieced-together book.

Oh, it's the devil's fault. Okay.

Crocodiles and birds are the only remaining animals that share a common ancestor with the dinosaurs.

The older I get the more I realize that a lot of people who didn't pay attention in school grew up to be people that like to argue to hide the fact that they don't know shit.

Dinosaurs are not debatable.

The Bible is divine because it is one of the oldest books known to mankind. It is one of the few books that have been preserved word-for-word since as far back as recorded history. That's what makes it divine. Also, there are billions of people that believe in it.

yall really gonna let this go 20 pages lmao

I don't know if it was Allhiphop.com or Sohh.com, but if you made a platinum thread (10 pages) you got props. I deserve some props for this thread.

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse but...how come the alligators and crocodiles made it but the rest of the dinosaurs didn't?

Natural selection

1: They are amphibious. They need little air and can stay underwater for extended periods. They can also relax near the surface, barely exposing themselves with just their nostrils and eyes showing.

2: Wide diet. Crocodiles can and will eat just about anything they can take down. As the larger and more dangerous dinosaurs died off, their main land-based prey became the smaller, adaptable mammals that were beginning to become commonplace.

3: Strong immune system. Crocodiles are like bats in how well they can resist disease. The extinction event killed off the plentiful food that the large dinosaurs needed and as they starved they also fell to disease.

4: Efficient metabolism. Crocodiles don’t need a lot of food and can go long periods without a large meal, whereas the large, continuously growing dinosaurs had to eat until they could not find enough food to sustain their size (a common problem amongst the largest kinds of herbivores)

5: They’re tough and mean. As large predatory dinosaurs died off, crocodiles had less competition and moved up the food chain a bit.

6: Large litters. Crocodiles lay a lot of eggs and the babies mature fairly quickly. Many dinosaurs took years to develop into proper adults.

7: Hibernation. The extinction event and subsequent Ice Age caused radical weather changes with huge temperature drops that most dinosaurs would not have been able to survive. Crocodiles, however, can go dormant in the cold if they find a safe spot to hide out, and simply come out again when it’s warm.
