ABW Stock Exchange: All Things Investing

I wonder how often splitting is considered healthy vs. splitting too much, if that's a thing.

Looks like Apple has split 4 times... this one coming up with be the fifth.
Microsoft has split about 9 times so far apparently

interesting shit

Wow I've actually been following them since 2012/2013 but never made an investment. For a long time it just remained undervalued. I think it was management and cashflow issues. Glad to see it worked out for them. Financially I remember them being sound.

Dude is on twitter saying he just put 80% of his net worth into $LCA...people wild

Super layman’s terms @ChicagoFigure

Yup spelled it out basic as possible

One thing tho is that even tho the split means more shares for same amount of money....any growth in the company after the split is now multiplied by x amount of shares your holding is split into

So if u have one share @ $500 and goes up $50 in one day u made $50 profit (your investment now worth $550 total)

But after that one share splits into 4 shares of $125....if the stock goes up $50 in one day u made $200 profit (your investment now worth $700)

The opposite is also true if the stock price drops

Your shares will have the same value but you will have more shares. Companies do this so more people can afford the nominal price of a share. Like if Coca-Cola for example never split its shares, a single share would cost millions of dollars for each one.
Yep. BRKA never split and is $300k+ a pop...

I don’t believe you can ever split too much if your splits are triggered by price. Some stocks are for ballers and they don’t split. Apple is huge and has a young fan base. College kids will eat them $100 shares up.

We buy Jordans, females buy makeup, and little girls keep begging their rich dads to buy them iPhones. LouisVuitton/Moët/Hennessy sell whether people are happy or sad, rich or poor. LOL! I ain’t loss, and will keep holding the very bullish MCB.They issue the Bitcoin debit cards...

Okay, I lied. I may liquidate MCB. I dunno. This is my first loss in 20 years of messing with Wall Street. (MCB is my smallest holding. Stocks are listed in alphabetical order, not investment percentage). And dump it into <$100 $AAPL. It really doesn’t matter, but I’m already 90% of net worth into crypto and don’t need the Bitcoin debit card manufacturer exposure as well...
