Welcome To aBlackWeb

Netflix Dave Chappelle - 8:46

There's 2 ways you can look at this and either/both can be true. Yes, Chapelle should have at least said the name of 1 of the many women who've been killed by police also...but then there's this whole "unpacking your trauma" thing that's been a buzzword for a couple years now from people just now becoming "woke". And they claim that men need to unpack it on their own, w/o the help and/or burdening of women while doing that...and listening to this it's clear that Floyd and Kobe's death both were traumatic experiences for his mind and this is way of unpacking that on his own w/o asking for the aid of black women...so is it Oochie Wally or is it 1 Mic?

true I don’t think Dave was wrong in this. I’m just seeing that this gender war thing which is largely on the net sothe last past 5 years it’s brought up a lot despite the many images of black men and women showing love to each other. So the extreme POV we get when they bring up Breonna Taylor, Sandra Bland, even Khoryn Gaines is going to keep happening.

But I don’t think Dave was wrong at all tho.

The main people on twitter and FB right now saying this are also the same ones who swear people "Forgot" about Breonna Taylor. Is there an issue of the erasure of Black women when these stories come about? Yes the news does minimize the issues that Black women in particular go through. But in this instance alot are simply trying to ride the "listen to Black women" train to boost their own personal career goals. Notice they aren't calling for justice for Breonna Taylor but using her tragic murder as a comparative tool to win the oppression Olympics. There's a way to talk about these situations and how they specifically affect Black women, but the people going viral on Twitter are doing it the wrong way and some are rightfully being called out by many, including other Black women, for it.

Just watched it

The closing was perfect

I felt that shit

Can we please stop trying to reduce shit to "he didn't mention XYZ"

We still know the people, we are keeping their names alive

literally no one has done this though

and I'm not talking about some knuckle heads who giving opinions that we shouldn't be wasting our times or energy with either

if you haven't forget about breonna, Sandra bland, etc... that's all that matters

first the argument was no celebrities were speaking out, now it's but they didn't mention females or the trans community

can't have it both ways

sir honestly stfu

if you think there is an equal amount of coverage and outrage towards Black women whose lives have been stolen by police vs Black men you are either blinded by your privilege or willfully obtuse. READ THE ARTICLES
STUDY WHY THE “SAY HER NAME” hashtag was even created
and listen to Black women

the gaslighting is fucking disgusting coming from you and i wont allow it.

this is not the oppression olympics but dont leave Black women out of the goddamn conversation

are we clear?

The fucking trans community isn't apart of this struggle. If you're a black gay then fighting for black civil rights is helping you.

Because it formed into say their names during these protests, no one had forgotten the women that suffered. People just trying to divide black people and y'all playing right into it

Im watching this for the second time and im cosigning everything he said about staten island. It shouldnt even be counted as one of the 5 boroughs. Shits disgusting.

Staten Island is to NYC what South Jersey is to Jersey. Its wild how in a melting pot like NYC, which is one of the most liberal parts of the US, you can have a place like staten island exist.

Ma'am, follow your own advice

Who is leaving black women out the conversation?

You know what, don't answer

This not the thread for it

Absolutely phenomenal and much needed right now. Chappelle going down as THE GOAT and this coming from a hardcore Eddie Murphy fan.

Nah he is thee GOAT...
