COMMUNITY Social Justice Thread: R.I.P. George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor & now Tyre Nichols

It might not seem like it, but it wasn't random at all.

All I did was respond to what was posted.

If that hadn't have been posted, I wouldn't have said a word about Lizzo.

Gotta admit though, this thread has taken on some elements of the Off Topic thread.

Especially the 4 pages about Sara Sidner a couple days ago.

i agree

however, lizzo posted a tweet that was relevant to the thread, you then came in and started talking about how she looked which has nothing to do with the thread

you see the diff? But lets not continue to derail

One thing about this event is that it's showing you who are your family and friends. It's still alot of people that's uneducated to social issues. Idk if it's because he married to a white chick that could've influenced him, but I gotta cousin that said yesterday the ol "what about black on black" crime. Then he came with "what if the cop was black and the victim was white" smh. After getting a verbal beating of knowledge from my family and I then his punishment is that we revoked him from the next cookout. I can see if he was a teenager, but this dude is near 40 with this mindset.....Gots to be more careful

Promise I ain't bout to say this exclusively to toot my own horn..

I keep seeing alot of donate, donate, donate all over the place, like money is all that solves shit. Atlanta should be enough to show folk it's more than money.

I raise my kids with all the lessons I've accrued through the years to make sure that they apply what I teach them and that they are leaders in all endeavors they under take. I take time to hip them to the reality of events and at the same time encourage them to form their own opinions based on their own perceptions. I don't teach hatred or discrimination of others.

I'm currently in school to work to become a counselor and later a therapist where I am to work with black youth and disadvantaged black adults.

It's more than instant money, it's long term goals and the amount of effort we put into change in our own lives. Real life be the change you want to see.

Yes it is a problem because for 100's of years we've been taught their ice is colder, grass is greener and their white women's pussy and status of having her is better. Let's not act like black kids aren't being "educated" according to white standards. Shit HBCU's accreditation comes from white people. Think about that an HBCU could lose their acceditation for teaching black kids because some white people say they don't like the curriculum.

Yes we have the options but we don't have the mindset.
Exactly.

That all Im saying mist of the time.

We smart enough an have everything we need. Don't need much from outside us.

Just imagine if we constantly build each other up. Celebrate our wins. Encourage outside the box thinking...Fund each other's dreams and visions. Teach each other the game......Whether it be real estate, investing, raising kids or anything....

We got this.

I shine you shine mindset

I ain't trying to say I'm betta than anyone, but let's utilize our hearts and minds to fill the gaps where its needed. More black lawyers, financial advisers, mental health advocates

Real estate and leveling up is cool, but lets uplift everyone as we uplift ourselves

I can understand this but you have to have money to finance any movement

Like the tweet that was posted by lizzo a few pages ago, there are several roles. We don't have to fit all of them. Find the one that suits you and do that and do it well

Nah cause all they are gonna do is go to a black neighborhood where people are minding their business and kill a bunch of innocent people. That ain't productive to nobody at all.

they was already attacking innocent black folks. That’s why niggas went over there

Monetizing struggle for their own ego
Is she selling them or something?

How is she monetizing off this?

I have my issues with her at times but looks like to me she's just wearing a shirt highlighting this guilty ass cracka.

Now is she attention seeking? Possibly
