COMMUNITY Social Justice Thread: R.I.P. George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor & now Tyre Nichols

A few hundred of a few thousand is a lot fam.

But looting takes away man power from the real issue. It’s lowkey real selfish and shows no solidarity on getting the issue taken care of.

Looting is literally just something on the side it takes nothing from the murder of that man that was all over the news. All those stores got insurance they not looting black businesses probably a lot of spots ran by Asians and Arabs. Like you said fuck them

I was having a discussion about looting on FB...

And I was basically saying I don't endorse it support looting... But I understand it, and it has its place.

My analogy... You can't walk into a burning house every day... Charge the people there $5 for a cup of water. Do NOTHING about the fire. Then leave every day at the end of your shift and never expect to get burned.

At the end if the day these business prey off of circumstances. They over charge cuz the insurance in a low income neighborhood is more expensive... And they know that the people have no where else to go. They often have the absolute worst treatment for their regular customers. And they have no interest in a community that are profiting from.

If they are local business owners, where is the pressure on local law enforcement and officials to provide a safer shopping experience for their customers.

What outreach are they doing to better they community?

Back in the day you couldn't even open a barber shop in a neighborhood without the association making you sponsor a baseball team or something...

If these business feel they are above a communities problems but want to continue to open up shop in those same communities...

When the community explodes with frustration.. They gonna have to expect to get burned as well

A few hundred is a lot, but lets say 200 out of 2k people. Which Id still be surprised if it was that high. But thats still only 10% of the people out there that looted.

Youre never gonna have 100% solidarity on any issue. And you can rightfully criticize the 10-20% if you think looting is wrong, but lets always mention that the vast majority wasnt looting so the movement doesnt get defined by the 10-20% you disagree with.

I’d be surprised if they weren’t looting ....1/4 of the working force has filed for unemployment situation....in certain that’s reflected in Minnesota as well....ppl are looting out of necessity is how I see it....

Thank you! Niggas worried about fucking target and wal mart and shit like they hurting

I dont think it’s wrong though.
This issue don’t need the added folks doing the looting instead of being productive about the issue.

Looting always looks wrong from hundreds of miles away.

But man if you put yourself in the situation, it makes a ton of sense. If you were in the place where George Floydd was murdered, and felt that anger, and then had a hundreds of like minded individuals all feeling that anger, how could you not understand that shit boiling over?

From the crib, watching tv, its easy to say man maybe they shouldnt have burned that building. But if I was there, even if I was against rioting, i might not walk out of Target with a tv, but I could easily imagine me fucking a cop car up.

Just human nature.

hmmmmm

i cant quite agree with this but i see what you trying to say.

In a way, its dope thay they think believed this murderer was gonna get killed by the people and felt they needed 50 armed cops to protect him.

Thats vigilante justice for that ass. Maybe other mfers can take note and think twice next time. Even though we know that wont happen.

I got a homegirl that live out there, When I’m finished with my workout I’ll hit her phone to see what’s good, since the homie @Freshb651 missing in action right now..
I hope he alright out there..
