Guy drowns after brother bets him to swim across a pond for money and car (SMH)

I can't say I wouldn't drown,but thanks to summer fam reunions I can swim.

I assume he could swim to some degree if he too this bet.

I know the brother feels bad,but really I can't say that's his fault.

Dude looed kinda big so his wind probably wasn't what he thought it was.

He 20 so I'm still kinda surprised, but damn shit happens.

Shit sad

Also dude really didn’t know how to swim? because he looked like he could but I don’t get how a dude that athletic could run out of energy that quick and get to the point of drowning from that distance unless something happened to his body or something
i dont think you understand how drowning works.......
its more silent panic than run out of energy

i was grown ass man before i found out about the black ppl can't swim stereotype. i've been swimming since i was 8. my sister is 3.5 years older than me and she's been swimming literally as long as i can remember. my dad is an excellent swimmer. shit we had a pool in our backyard since i was in the 3rd grade. i guess i didnt get the black folks dont know how to swim memo.

The reason he drowned was because at the end of the other side, there was a 30 foot sinkhole. That's why he went under and couldn't recover, as the water drug him into the sinkhole. That's where he was found when they recovered his body, 30 ft at the bottom.
Daamn

People who dont know how to swim or havent attempted to learn is just something I cant understand. Feel that's part of basic life skills that should be learned early expecially with the earth being 71% water, fuck that..
pride bruh.

i took swim classes after i almost drowned....

yes i was a grown ass man taking swim class.......and i didnt care.

it was either swallow my pride or swallow the water.

i am no longer that dude knee deep in the ocean at the beach

I don’t think it pride that keeps folks from swimming but if you didn’t grow up swimming you’re not going to miss it. Then you get older and you just got other shit to do.
how many dudes ask to be taught to swim?

why go to a pool to stand an hold a drink?

why go to the beach?

even outside of that...like someone else said its a life skill.

I know it’s a life skill bruh but you can go your whole life not knowing how to swim and be fine. Pool party is fun and it’s outside the beach is fun and it’s outside. These are simple answers

Thats called privilege

I seen theres an extended video of the accident. It does appear they jumped in after him once they realized he was in trouble but nobody could find him. Maybe due to that drop.

Homie didn’t panic silently though

and homie clearly ran out of energy because he didn’t pace himself which caused him to panic

crazy because again it doesn’t seem like THAT far of a difference

Ahhh that makes more sense

Sad

I can't swim. Deep water makes me panic. The thought of my head being submerged or my feet not touching the ground is too much to get past. I'm good

I think I would swim for survival... As I mentioned earlier my cousin, and one other person when I think about it, threw me in the deep end before... But all those things did were reenforce my fears... Cuz those experiences were traumatic to me... As a kid I felt like I almost drowned
