Welcome To aBlackWeb

He is getting praised for manning up to his ""mistake"" but some who see past the veil are calling him out for this back tracking of epic proposition.

I wish I seen the previous post of his. This nigga back tracking like a mufugga. That’s wack as fuck. He acts like he isn’t entitled to his opinion & how HE feels. What does he have to gain from kissing up to the black Hollywood elite? This nigga only raps once a year.

Found it. His original post:
Mad Skillz:
I HATED THIS FILM!!! Did yall see the same movie I saw? Because I didnt see a cinematic beautiful love story at all. I saw a black unarmed couple get gunned down in the street!!

A black woman made this? A black woman was responsible for bringing this into theaters? Yall thought this was cool? In todays climate? Really? Yall buying out theaters to see black people killed at the hands of the police? I dont need a movie to see that, it happens all the f**king time.

Yoo @lenawaithe why? @msmelina why would you think this was ok? No silver lining at the end just death… a death that was/is very familiar of the times that we currently live in.

This wasnt a love story. They didnt fall in love. They fell into TRUST based on the situation that they were in. And why did the kid have to shoot a black cop in the face and become a martyr!?

He got violently gunned down too ( in the screener you showed it, in the theaters you didnt) why? You took that scene out …thought it was too much for us to see a black young man killed the same manner they always kill us? You showed us all this black unity to end it like that? Nevermind the fact that this idea was pitched to you by James Frey ( google him) who knows nothing of us or our culture. But you wrote it @lenawaithe you thought this was something black people should support?

This movie was socially irresponsible. I will never watch anything with your name attached to it ever again. I want my money back. Yall want black trauma to be a genre? I know one thing, if I was a filmmaker the one film no hollywood studio would let me make right now? One that ends in a mass shooting. Why? Because its too close to whats really happening in the real world.

Everytime I see you I see the face of the person in the next picture. (SWIPE RIGHT) that is who you are to the black community.

F?&k this film.

What was wrong about that, that he felt he had to apologize? It’s objective and valid as fuck. Man get that nigga all the way outta here for not standing his ground or standing for what he believes.

I agree with your post. I think maybe he felt bad about saying he would never support anything the writer and director creates in the future but his gripes are 100% valid and the way I felt after watching this.

I knew they were not going to live at the end of the film but I at least thought posthumously they would be exonerated for shooting the cop and that the one female cop who killed Queen would get time. I also hated that the kid shot the black cop and was killed. That whole scene made me so angry because the cop was trying to reason with the young man and obviously didn't want the situation to escalate. Smh.

I thought it was an okay movie but honestly I was a bit disappointed in the story. It could've been so much better

Saw this last night

Very surprised it's only 4 pages long and it came out 2 weeks ago

I'll give my thoughts when I get to work

I largely agree with what @Sion posted. I thought some of Skillz's thoughts were valid as well

I enjoyed the film fwiw. A couple eye roll moments, but nothing too bad. Probably wouldnt see it again, but it didnt suck either

Sion summed up my thoughts pretty much.. I enjoyed it.. have minor nitpicks like everybody else but it understand what it was trying to accomplish.

On his pod?

I wanna hear what he thought
Yea he basically sided with a tweet or something from vann lathan saying when is it ok to not like a black movie or some shit. He tried not to kill the movie but ended up killin it lol.
