Here is an article about it. I also read some other articles. The dates are a little different but in the below article, it shows as far back as 2500bc that locks were used in the Vedas. Which is Hinduism scriptures. Egyptians also wore them. So it is kind of hard to tell where it started started. Here is an article from ebony magazine

Again, your claims that Indians invented locks and weed smoking are dubious as are the claims that the Romans and Mayans orginated grillz and the ceasar style hair cut. In fact, I'll go as far as to say the Romans inventing the Caesar style hair cut is just wrong as, in the case of black people, a Caesar is basically just a normal hair cut for many. The rest of that shit isn't even associated with the fundamentals of Hip Hop. No one ever claimed that rappers invented Adidas or Nike. Shoes in and of themselves are not a culture. They are just a product. Integrating them into a clothing style is what is cultural in nature, and the Greeks and Germans had no part in that.
Again, in a discussion like this, it's not important who invented something. What is more important is how innovated and popularized it. A white Canadian invented basketball, but ain't no one now going to see the style of basketball he invented or the shit whites were playing in the 1900s. Pretty much all the exciting shit that is being done now (e.g., dunks, crossovers, shooting from the stands, etc...) was introduced by black people.
Why are you trying so hard to take credit from blacks? I don't see anyone on here trying to act like Indians didn't have any achievements. Ya'll certainly get the gold start for creating funky smelling food.
