Lucas lost his fighting spirit a while back time to hang it up..

Pac still can win some fights he still is ridiculously fast, i don think he can beat any elites though... he will probably fight lomachenkco,, bud and then hang it up
 
Matthysse looked like shit. Manny looked real good for a 39 year old. Still has a lot to offer. Not sure he has what it takes for the Spences and Crawfords but I could see him dealing with the Thurmans, Porters and Garcias. Too much of a weight discrepancy for Lomachenko. Wouldn't want to see that.

Team Lomachenko: Pacquiao Must Go To 135 - No Catch-Weight!

Egis Klimas, the manager of WBA lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (11-1, 9 KOs), made it clear that his boxer is not willing to move up to the junior welterweight limit of 140 pounds for a catch-weight bout with Manny Pacquiao.

This past weekend, Pacquiao captured the WBA "regular" welterweight title with a seven round stoppage of Lucas Matthysse in Malaysia.

It was Pacquiao's first stoppage win since 2009 and also his first fight in the ring since July 2017, when he lost a twelve round controversial decision to Jess Horn in Brisbane, Australia.

Pacquiao could likely get down to the junior welterweight limit with no issues, and members of his team believe he can make the lightweight limit of 135 in a safe manner.

But Pacquiao, who turns 40 at the end of the year, hasn’t fought at lightweight in ten years, since knocking out David Diaz in 2008.

The fight could set up a very familiar scenario, where Oscar De La Hoya killed his body to fight Pacquiao at a catch-weight of 147 in 2008 - which saw Pacquiao, a huge underdog at the time, batter a weight-drained De La Hoya into retirement.

According to Klimas, the only way they would entertain a Pacquiao fight is at 135 - and they are not even interested in discussing anything even a pound over that limit.

“We have no interest [in moving up],” Klimas told Chris Mannix of Yahoo! Sports. “If Pacquiao can make 135, to come in and compete for [Lomachenko’s] WBA title, Vasyl is the champion in that weight class, it’s a possibility.”

“If we are talking 137 [pounds] and 136, no, there will be no catch weight. If he wants to challenge, he needs to come down. We are not looking to go to 140 pounds. If Manny Pacquiao wants to fight Lomachenko, he can make 135 pounds.”

Lomachenko, 30, was in the ring back in May, when he stopped Jorge Linares in the tenth round to capture the WBA title at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Manny Pacquiao is very willing to do a second fight, if Floyd Mayweather decides to come out of retirement for a rematch, saying "let's do a second one" after powering to his first KO win in nine years.

The fighting Philippines senator known as "Pac-Man" took on the dangerous Argentine WBA "regular" welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday knowing a defeat could have lowered the curtain on one of the greatest careers in boxing history.

Instead he opened a glorious new act in a 23-year story that has seen him become the only man to move up through eight weight divisions and win world titles in all of them.

Despite racing towards his 40th birthday, Pacquiao looks like he is back to being the devastatingly quick and ruthless power-puncher who earned the sobriquet of world's "best pound-for-pound fighter" between 2000 and 2010.

In 2015 Pacquiao, with a win-loss-draw record of 60-7-2, lost a unanimous points decision to the unbeaten Mayweather (50-0) in one of the richest fights in boxing history, but then needed surgery on a damaged shoulder that he claimed had restricted his movement and punching power.

After rolling back the years to pummel Matthysse into seventh-round submission, the Filipino legend is already considering the options for his next fight, which could take place as early as November or December.

"Mayweather? If he decides to go back to boxing then that is the time we are going to call the shots," an effervescent Pacquiao told reporters at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur after his stunning win.

"I have the belt, so it's up to him. If he wants to come back in boxing let's do a second one," he grinned.

Mayweather, 41, retired from boxing last August, after picking up a tenth round stoppage over UFC superstar Conor McGregor at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

DAZN Fighter Signings, Event Dates, Service Price Revealed

There was string of announcements at the Tuesday's press conference to reveal various aspects connected to Perform Group's DAZN streaming service.

Perform Group signed an eight year deal with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom USA, who are going to provide boxing content for Perform's streaming application.

Hearn has entered into several multi-fight deals with numerous fighters who will appear on the service in the upcoming months. Ring announcer Michael Buffer has signed a multi-year deal to work DAZN events.

The streaming service will run $9.99 a month - which is double of the newly launched ESPN+ streaming service which showcases the majority of the talent from Top Rank. DAZN's service will launch on September 10 with a one month free trial.

As BoxingScene.com reported a few weeks ago, the first Matchroom card on DAZN, will be Anthony Joshua's defense of the IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight titles against mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin on September 22nd at Wembley in London.

The first Matchroom USA card, taking place on U.S. soil, will happen on October 6 in Chicago, with IBF light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev making a mandatory defense against Callum Johnson.

Hearn made a deal with promoter Yvon Michel for a three fight co-promotion of Beterbiev.

Also part of that show, and also signed to multi-fight deals with Hearn, former world champion Jessie Vargas will appear in action, Katie Taylor will defend her IBF and WBA lightweight titles against Cindy Serrano.

The next Matchroom USA event will happen on October 20 in Los Angeles with Daniel Roman defending his WBA super bantamweight title against Gavin McDonnell.

Matchroom have made a deal with Roc Nation Sport for a co-promotion on WBO junior welterweight champion Maurice Hooker, and they hope to have him face mandatory challenger Alex Saucedo as the co-feature of that event.

Heavyweight Jarrell Miller and former junior middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade are being positioned to fight in October as well. Andrade appears to be heading to the Chicago card, while Miller could appear on either date.
