Netflix Yasuke

I wish they stuck to Yasuke's back story and him serving as a samurai - it felt like there was loads more they could have fleshed out and explored in terms if his relationships with those around him. All the fantasy and magic they threw into this is a load of rubbish.

As soon as I turned on the first episode and saw robots and magic arrows I knew this wasn't telling a real story

I literally just started and paused after the first 2 min of the show to post this lol.

I’ll continue watching it but the Mechs kinda threw me off, I was expecting some oldskool samurai shit not this ‘Batman Ninja’ type of intro lmao.

lol we ended up watching all the damn eps and - eventhough the story was razor thin - shit was entertaining. Absolutely not as deep layered and well written as it could have been, maybe we’ve been spoiled with Castlevania and - to a lesser extend - Blood of Zeus and just assumed a lot of shit that was never on the table ...

Finished it. Overall it was pretty good

Went into this thinking it was going to just going to be about some samurai warrior. Didn't know they were going to add in supernatural stuff. Still pretty cool though

Had a feeling the mercenary group was going to come back and help out. Wasn't expecting them to go out so quickly though lol

I thought that too initially then I did some more research and found that not really is known about his life at all outside of basically the 3-4 year period he was documented to have been in Japan. Even after that short time period what happened to him is a complete mystery so I'm not surprised their using fantasy elements to fill in certain parts of the story

This ain’t really holding my attention. Don’t particularly care about that little girl’s plot line

Lakeith is a pretty good actor but voice over work might not be for him

Nigga sounded dry af in the trailer I watched which why I haven't peeppd the whole thing yet
