That is incorrect. The gaming community put it on the map. It started out as just a guy streaming his life 24/7. People joined to do similar things. Then the gaming community came along and blew it up.
It started out with people live streaming their everyday life . When gamers got on, it blew up. They had policies towards explicit content so that is what prevented it from turning into what onlyfans is now. The people complaining about those trying to be sexual were for the most part gamers.
They got even bigger when they started to pull top streamers like that Ninja dude. Twitch has since removed sexual stuff for the most part and they are not hurting from it.
Only fans tried that and damn near lost half or more of their subscribers .
I’m 38 I have been watching TWITCH off and on since I was 24/25 years old. I usually watching FIGHTING VIDEO GAME streamers and then others. When new video games appear, EVO tournaments, Developers showing off new characters, video game awards, E3, I watch. So I watch the entire stream, not all the time. Some people it depends on what they are showing, others it may just be a funny chat. Most of the time I just fall asleep to twitch. Having dreams about RYU doing a shoryouken at me with a 100 hit combo.
Here is are some people I follow.
Other than Gaming
Double toasted does MOVIE REVIEWS, they are usually on from Sunday - Thursday. Usually they are on for 2 or 3 hrs. I have watched ONE SHOW in full, most of the time I just watch some parts or just catch the reviews on YouTube.
DJ Akdemicks has a Twitch and he is about 34 - 37 years old. I know he ain’t that far from my age. He is today’s FUNK FLEX (agree or not) especially with all the new music through the K DOT & DRAKE BEEF!
Anthony Fantano has a twitch and he plays new music (ALL GENRES) every Friday. He plays whole albums sometimes when they come out to see how the viewers feel in the chat. He also sometimes skips them live too, lmfao
I used to watch T - Pain streams a lot around Covid, I liked his funny stories
Kai Cenat, never watched any of his streams. He does annoy the shit out of me with all that damn screaming. But I am happy seeing a young black man winning on twitch and it ain’t a funny BLUE HAIR wh1te kid. There are so many, and usually they are #1. Crazy thing is, Kai gets more views from his antics and whatever celebrity comes on his show.
