Word on the block is... they ain't connoisseurs like that.

They act scary when shit is over 80 proof
$200 bottle and wanna load the glass with ice
Give them a menu without anything they ain't seen at a gas station or rap video and they don't know what to do
Wouldn't know the bar filled the ciroc bottle with taka
Probably wouldn't drink if it wasn't mixed with coke or cranberry

I wanted to make a thread asking if folks were to spend top dollar on some mid to top shelf alcohol would they automatically try the first glass with ice?

That saddens me when I see folks take ice in a good aged glass of scotch. I mean if you've tried it before and you know you're going to need ice that's cool but if you haven't tried it before at least taste 1st.

Same thing with eating a new dish. At least taste it 1st then adjust accordingly

Shit with a good wine pairing you get a shot of alcohol towards the end.

And you can get a bit lit ....My first time getting the pairing....I was lit by the fifth glass. Had to tell them to slow down bringing them shits.

Anyway......Did y'all know it's only like maybe 5 black sommeliers in the US? One is a woman from chicago and went to France to be respected for her craft? Crazy.

I'm not surprised. It's one of those professions that isn't well known and has alot of hoops you have to jump through to get.

I think I saw her mention that ...People just didn't believe her. Like her appearance made the pairing taste different. But in France where wine us respected she was accepted by now she usually around white folk.

I was legit curious why it wasn't more black people. Especially in the US. But they have very few places to go. I want to go to where they are and support them. Give them praise. But I mean.....I guess it's other things that come into play. But you can't tell me black people won't spend money on meals. Especially in the chi and nyc
