You also intentionally left out the part of my post where I said of course rap music is more aggressive in how it's expressed. I never disputed that. What I am disputing is that rap music is the only genre of music where artist openly comptete, diss, and do things to fuck with each others careers.

You've don't remember the entirety of old rock and roll groups openly trashing the rap rock hybrid bands or nu metal? One of the greatest albums of all time Fleetwood Mac Rumors is basically the band saying "fuck you" to each other. r&b singers have legendary behind the scenes beefs that have existed for decades. Shit Babyface was just in some shit just lazy year and had to leave a tour because of beefing with Anita Baker. Pink has been shitting in Chritina Aguilera for over 20 years and has brought literal blow up dolls on stage pretending they're her.

Metaliica said their former bassist Jason Newsted had gotten so bad they literally drowned him out on the last album with him. Shit even Hall and Oats hate each other and have vowed to never perform together again. All this drama and pettiness and hate you claim doesn't exist in other genres has for decades and will continue to as long as everyone is aiming for the top spot in their form of music.

It happening, and it being the norm are 2 different things. And I said in my post other genres show competition "at that level", isn't necessary. Most people not doing it shows its not necessary.

This is the hockey/ basketball thing again. I didn't say people not liking each other doesn't exist in other genres. I said they showed it isn't necessary, and they have.

Technically it's not "necessary" in any genre of music. But it occurs quite often and has so pretty consistently to the levels of it affecting careers the same way we see in rap music after a battle in terms of how people view that artist moving forward.

Unless Drake kill someone on camera there's absolutely no way Kendrick will be on the hiphop thrown. I'm not even a Drake fan but Drake has the whites, media, Black people and more importantly than all of that females on his side.

Cole and Kendrick can absolutely rap circles around him on any given day or time but that shit don't matter.
Lmao @ spelling throne as thrown

You say its not necessary but a lot of fans are talking shit about Cole for apologizing for participating in it, and criticizing people for not replying with diss tracks fast enough.

If Kendrick chooses not to respond would it be a bad look for him, and possibly impact his career? Then it's kinda necessary.
