Remember when we were supposed to boycott the NFL over racism? Fast forward to an era led by the most openly racist administration any of us we seen in our lifetime, a  RAPPER with a pro Black message pretty much hijacks the Super Bowl halftime show and did what he wanted in the sitting president's face... and niggas still complain. Y'all may as say "shut up and rap" if you didn't at least take something positive from this.
The fuck is this logic lol. Yeh he hijacked it by taking that fat ass check and promoting his new album on the most watched TV show. I like how people are flipping it into a deep message when it was really just promo and a lackluster performance.

Kendrick didn't get paid for the Superbowl

None of the artists do

This is commonly known

In fact, he pays for all the shit with the hopes of recoupment from new album sales/streams, concerts, merch

Gotta quote Cole on this one

Niggas fake-progressive and woke, I started sayin' less/I had to stop it, peeped how they profit off of racial stress/Some activists got so rich, they prolly wish we stay oppressed

Economic revolution is the only revolution. wtf is rapping to Trump gonna do.

Also just saw something that insinuated that Kendrick didn't perform more older songs cause those are still under his old record deal with tde and he only gets like 10% of streams from those songs whereas he gets 80% from his gnx songs cause he has a different structure with interscope under PG Lang

He probably the last person you need to quote to prove a point on anything in this thread

All the other anti Kendrick niggas hardly pop up in here they just let lil g_body waffle on and embarrass himself meanwhile he’s presented no solutions to black liberation, he hasn’t mentioned any ways he contributes no nothing. Just trolling and psycho babble and he STILL hasn’t answered to why he supports Game dating 18 year olds

Performers don’t get paid to do the Super Bowl halftime show…

Like @Keelroyal89 said earlier, Kendrick isn't anyone's savior. He did his job and got paid, good for him. But it seems in like the past 8 years, Black social progression has taken a back seat on multiple front. Even an alarming amount of Black lawmakers are either corrupt or contributing to the white supremacist agenda. We all play a part in our progression, no matter how small it is... and that's especially true for the artist. The artist represents the social landscape of their time depending on the content of their art. K Dot, while having his own intentions, represents the last bit of pure Black expression in the mainstream. Ppl can criticize the art, and yeah the symbolism can become redundant without action from the rest of the community... but as long as there's a message there to be heard, it shows that our community still has life in it. We gotta build on our own, this is just the backdrop to that building process.

Matter of fact, here's what we can do. You, @God_Body and anyone else that thinks this just a performance... pull up to this thread and answer this question. We got a racist regime that needs to be voted out but the Democrats need help. What do y'all got to add to the table?

All the name calling aint changing shit you hoe ass nigga.

Answer the question: What have YOU done to present solutions for black people? What have you done in your community? All this shit you saying you becoming the same exact thing you claim you're against. So present some actual resolutions or stfu you too old to be crying over another grown man

Let me get this straight...to prove your point you qoute a rap and by doing so pretty much legitimize that rap is a sufficient medium of social critique...then in that same breath you ask what will rapping do?
