Nothing has to be changed. It's already done.

Trump and white America would have loved to have a Jelly roll half time show.

They got Kendrick. And the whole country talking about the importance of a rap performance.

Mission accomplished.
Probably more like Metallica or AC/DC

Snoop Dogg is doing stop the hate commercials while also endorsing Trump. Serena crip walking at the halftime show as some sort of get back at Drake.

On one hand, we're being told that there are hidden messages in Kendrick's performance but why are they hidden? It's the halftime show at the Super Bowl. Why get on that platform and be shy?

Then on the other hand we're being told that there's a specific message being sent but it appears that the messages are "mixed"

People are weird bro.

My wife showed me this TikTok from a white chick talking about how bad the halftime show was. Then she made another TikTok an hour later after her followers explained to her the whole Drake/Kendrick beef. She was all geeked up talking about the performance was like the DaVinci code and was the greatest thing she'd ever seen.

I'm gonna be honest,

This comes off as more symbolism that ultimately doesn't change anything. This is Democrats kneeling in Congress.

In 2025, I think any energy wasted at throwing symbolism in Trump or America's face is wasted energy. What do we expect the opposition to do differently with more symbolism?

Why are we still entertaining them at all? We know who they are and what they are about.

Well he's an artist. It's not like he's able to enact policies as an elected official. Artists have always protested through their work whether it be visual or audio. He's doing what an artist does

I consider it positive affirmation for Black America. From someone that didn't like this beef and didn't watch football at all this year, I personally feel energized by the performance. I'm glad someone from the mainstream finally used a major platform to make this statement after 3 soul draining months. This wasn't pandering or begging to the opposition, this was a powerful Black man using a mostly white platform to uplift his ppl. Call it what you want, but I'm gonna use it as energy to move forward.

Why did kaep kneel then?

Kap kneeled because Nate Boyer recommended it to him. Initially, Kap chose to sit on the bench during the anthem and nobody gave a fuck. Nate Boyer who is a former player and a veteran, told Kap that kneeling is something that service members and athletes do during ceremonial stuff and that it would be viewed as less controversial than sitting.

Alsp, Kap explained why he kneeled and it doesn't need to be explained further.

My point is that, niggas are getting exhausted with the symbolic gestures. We can't even say Stay Woke after Kendrick's performance because the word woke has been hijacked.

So, how should we react when we are fed even more symbolic gestures even when they are on the biggest stage in the world?

I get that. I'm just not sure that it's landing the way that it should on either side. The side of Black folks who are seeking to be uplifted or white people who need to be checked.

It's art. He's an artist. If you appreciate it great, if you don't... I6s just not for you. Everybody doesn't have to have an extreme reaction... But I don't think we should start encouraging artists to stop being artistic.

Shit half the issue with rap now is that many artists aren't creative enough. I still think Tyler has the album of the year last year... Imagine if he got the Superbowl...it wouldn't have been patriotic.... But it definitely would have been different

Ok so this is a long way of saying kaep knelt to bring awareness to the issues he felt were not being talked about enough

Isn't that a symbolic gesture?

Yes, it is. My point is that we have become too content with the symbolic gestures. Not that we don't appreciate them or understand them. We've just become so accustomed to them that we've been stuck in a cycle.

Reckoning event happens. Initial emotion responses. Call to action. Symbolic gesture. Reckoning event happens. Initial emotional response. Call to action. Symboli...........

For example. I made it a point to hunker down on this upcoming Administration. No need to try and warn people about the potential atrocities or consequences for America putting itself in this position. I'm at a point where I don't need anyone to send anymore messages to people who don't get it by now. So I completely understand the importance and even the need for the symbolic gestures. They just don't hit the same right now.

Remember when we were supposed to boycott the NFL over racism? Fast forward to an era led by the most openly racist administration any of us we seen in our lifetime, a  RAPPER with a pro Black message pretty much hijacks the Super Bowl halftime show and did what he wanted in the sitting president's face... and niggas still complain. Y'all may as say "shut up and rap" if you didn't at least take something positive from this.

I want to point something else out. I agree the Super Bowl was not the "right stage" for this. People just wanted to be entertained. That in itself makes it the right stage.

Artists that are just there to entertain you are how you get shit like Snoop being a complete fucking sell out (this nigga been a sell out since that Martha Stewart shit). It's how you get shit like Nelly performing for Trump and defending it because he had military family. Nigga had the audacity to say it wasn't political. As a black nigga from the south your existence is political whether you want to believe that shit or not. Black entertainers, their very existence and performances are inherently political, regardless of their stated intentions because of the color of their skin.

You were once sold and can be sold again. These niggas are fine with that because they believe they will not be on the sold side of things. They are only with us when they benefit from us. Kendrick isn't excluded from this. He said it himself he is not your savior. Believe him on that. Only person saving you is you.
