Round 3: Family Business vs. Meet the Grahams
The gloves come OFF. Aubs comes out SWINGING on this shit. He crushed it. Best Drake track I've heard in years. I still believe that Mistake #2 from him was continuing to address all the randos like Ross, A$AP Rocky, The Weeknd, and whomever else, but that third beat zoomed in on Kendrick. The first real bomb of this battle dropped with the line about Dave Frees allegedly being the real father of Kendrick's son. The domestic violence claims should've buried Kendrick especially in this day and age, and had it had time to marinate, it probably could have..... until.....
...Meet the Grahams dropped, less than an half-hour later. Kendrick's best move of the battle. There's no way he didn't know some shit like Family Matters wasn't coming, and didn't have that counter record in the tuck, literally waiting for Family Matters to come out. And this thing was equally brutal. The concept of writing letters to EVERYONE in Drake's family - including an alleged long-lost daughter - about how fucked-up Aubrey is as a human; including having pedos around his son, on Ozempic, and basically lying about his whole life. I truly believe Kendrick bottled up ALL his hatred in the world he has for Drake and unleashed that shit on that last verse addressed directly to him. Goddamn, that shit was dark.
Honestly, I would give Meet the Grahams the nod, but the revelations about said non-existent daughter HAS to warrant a deduction. I wish it didn't, but you can't make up that kind of shit and expect that to clear. Mistake #1 by Kendrick keeps Drake in the battle.
Drake wins Round 3, 10-9
Best line of the Round: "When you put your hands on your girl, is self-defense cause she bigger than you?", Family Matters
Round 4: Not Like Us vs. The Heart Part 6
Kendrick's knock-out blow seemingly came by accident. I don't think even HE knew how big this would get. I'm sure he knew this would get crazy play in LA and on the West Coast, but this track spread like wildfire, to the point that everyone has heard it. It's on TNT Basketball telecasts, it's in the clubs, it's EVERYWHERE. #1 on most DSPs in America right now. And it's STILL a quality diss track, doubling down on the pedo stuff and throwing in all of the Culture Vulture allegations that everyone has suspected about Drake for YEARS. By the time Drake put out "The Heart Part 6," there wasn't much he could do to counter this. Instead, he took the darker road, once again attacking the notion that Kendrick's kids isn't his, that Kendrick hasn't seen his son in six months, and that how he masterminded the whole imaginary fake daughter that Kendrick seemingly fell for. The problem with that is that now it's played into Kendrick's assessment of Drake being the "master manipulator" and it’s left people wondering why if Drake had a whole plan to make Kendrick look stupid, why leak info that could be damaging to his own camp about being inappropriate with girls.
This is also where we come to Mistake #3 by Drake. His misinterpretation of Kendrick's "Mother I Sober" saying that Kendrick was molested, which he claims is the catalyst for K-Dot's crusade against pedos when Kendrick's track says it was his mother getting assaulted has pissed off Drake's major fanbase - women. They didn't think it was cool for Aubrey to make might of anyone getting SA'd - even if it was Kendrick himself - but the fact is now women have really turned on Drake. So, Drake is down and out. This fight is over. Knockout in Round 4. Too many miscalculations Drake made; and Kendrick loaded up for this battle, and outside of making one mistake, was three steps ahead of Drake the entire time.
Best line of the round battle: "Why you trollin like a bitch? Ain't you tired?/Tryin to strike a chord and prolly A-Minoooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........." Not Like Us.
Kendrick wins Round 4, 10-7
Final Tally: Kendrick wins on Rounds, 3-1, and Points 39-34.
