there's soooo many artists that grew up in the outer suburb or 40 mins away from the cities they "rep"

hip hop just works that way....you cant be from Alpharetta, you from Atlanta

you cant be from Bakersfield, you gotta be LA

the Pac story is different but makes sense.....when you're a kid just going to school and going home, the city or region you live in doesnt really have that much influence....its where you started smellin your ass at....where you learned your adult ways and how to carry yourself and decided who you were gonna be
 
These niggas are either dead or in their late 40s its not even relevant no more. PAC reallyu didn't like the thug image the industry gave him he wanted to be an activist. He grew up with the black panthers one of the first raps he wrote for a talent show was called "panther power" I respect that more than his west side thug life persona. A lot of niggas new this.
