OPINION What year did you realize Hiphop was dead??

Around 30 I stopped checkin for new shit, it had to find me. Ironically I started liking older music of all genres. And even tho I don't care for new shit I can still acknowledge it's not dead.
You think a Gunit/Dipset thread and a thread that features inspectah deck in 2025 is normal?

You think no threads about any music from the past 15 years is normal?
 
The lil side gig I have I talk to youngns in their 20s about music bc the perspective difference is mind blowing. They didn't know who Nas was, never heard a Jay album in full, Kanye was "the old school rapper" and when I asked have they ever heard of bone thugs this chick said "oh yea didn't they have that song with Mariah Carey?"

Faneto was their Illmatic. It always reminds me of the old heads from my younger days. I understand now.

It's an age thing.
