I feel he could have put the race issues on the table for a serious conversation. Mainly cops killing blacks all over the us with impunity. He spoke up for cops even created law on their behalf to keep them safe but never spoke out as a black man who could face the same fate or made any moves or laws to protect black lives or curb the violence from the people that are commissioned to protect civilians lives in America.

Being a black leader wasn’t really his job at that time imo, but I get your point.
But I can say I’m disappointed in him because I expected him to become more of a champion for black issues after leaving office. He has the perfect platform for it.

Who says he's not doing that tho? None of us know what he's doing behind scenes. And from what I remembered, him and Holder was planning on working on something to tackle those same issues.
Folks don't seem to understand that he could've put black issues to the fore front all he want. But what good will it do if you got a Congress that refuses to ACT on those issues? So did yall wanted him to just TALK about it...or actually have the government address and ACT on it?
We as a people gotta take responsibility as well. Just showing up to only the presidential elections is not enough. MIDTERMS...STATE...LOCAL elections is how the ball gets rollin. You can't complain about our issues not being addressed if you don't vote. Plain & simple. Those Republicans didn't just walk in and takeover. Smh.
We need to get outta this mainframe of puttin things on just one person and expect them to make the changes for us.

If he’s doing things behind the scenes that’s great, and so are many others. But what he has that they don’t, is a voice that would resonate in public and I just expected him to be taking better advantage of that.

This is a list of black progress, but read it again. Very few can be attributed as a direct result of Obama's actions. The ACA is bullshit and has resulted in price gouging of insurance rates since it took affect. His "minority" and "people of color" programs were not black people programs and still allowed others to come before his own people. Black people also did not receive legislative changes that benefited us. None that I'm aware of at least.
Jews got reparations, Gays got marriage, immigrants got a new immigration policy, us... he declared June black music month. Giving clemency is cool, but all he did was release these prisoners into a hostile land that terrorizes black citizens. And that segways into the one thing he didn't do that really matters. He did not protect the constitutional rights of black citizens as we were being terrorized by law enforcement.
Ain't a deafening silence, y'all niggas just being selective of what you want to hear. Too caught up in his image and not his actions. Trump got in the white house, dropped his nuts, and showed how a president looks out for his race. Hate the man all we want he makes Obama, the safe negro, look pussy.

Doesn't matter. White supremacy is still going to be upheld and those white folks without jobs will have their white privilege. And when/if the situation arises Trump would show his support for them. Even if it's just for show. Same as he's been doing since he got in office.
I tell y'all what. Show something that Obama did specifically for black people like he did specifically for other groups. Not a speech, not a symbolic victory, something backed by law. Something tangible. None of this people of color talk, none of that minority lingo. Women are a minority, so are gays. Mexicans are people of color, so are Indians. No donations to HBCU's, anyone with money can do that. Just like anybody can start a program for youth. Show me some real legal shit for BLACKS that only he had the power to put in motion. That he had to stick his neck out for. Even if congress wasn't with it, what something for us he actually at least tried to do.
