COMMUNITY What are you cooking in 2025?

I had that enameled cast iron for a while but using it for the gumbo really showed me how durable it was. Even when I had some burnt food at the bottom that was hard to come off, I put baking soda and vinegar in it and it came off with no damage. I wouldn't dare try that with my Teflon pans. And I don't have to worry about scratches in the enameled cast-iron. They also don't warp. Think I'm gonna upgrade all my pots and pans to enameled cast-iron.

Enameled cast-iron are non stick glass covered cast-iron. You don't have to worry about seasoning it like you do with regular cast iron. They can go in ovens just like regular cast-iron. I take back at the not scratching part. You can't use metal in enameled. But you can cook acidic foods unlike regular cast-iron. Since it is a glass covering, it can crack but you would have to had dropped it. Enameled can do temps up to 500deg depending on the brand. Regular can do that as well. Enameled can't go on a camp fire like a regular cast iron can. I camp so I have regular cast iron for that.

Le creuset are expensive. There are good alternatives at half the price. But do you.
