I was changing from low to medium.did you have it on medium or low heat the first time when you thought you burnt it? I kept mine pretty low just to be safe but honestly I think I coulda turned it up a bit and got it to that color quicker than I did

This attempt took me an hour. So I still wasn't doing like others I saw in videos. They did theirs in 40min. Some was even a lot thicker to where the oil was barely there.
How long it take you to do your roux?
It is possible the temp was too low for me.id say around 30 minutes or so and I felt like that was too long and I had mine too low but if people stirring for a damn hour.. sheesh
