COMMUNITY What’s it like to decide get pregnant as a Black Woman in America

My wife having 3 kids and every time I see/think about this reality for black women it kinda makes me nervous about the situation even though it’s over with.

Ya know.... This kind of reminds me of what Senator Warnock was talking about.

I have to give Sen. Warnock some credit where credit is due cause he got information like this on his website. He's been speaking on issues like this for a while now, especially for black women saying they ain't treated fairly in the medical industry and healthcare. Which they ain't. The link below ain't about C-sections like that tweet mentions, but I'll give Warnock some credit since he mentioned our black women and healthcare. I gotta look into that bill to see exactly what is being discussed.

Senator Reverend Warnock and Senator Padilla reintroduced the Kira Johnson Act, legislation to provide funding to community-based organizations leading the charge to improve maternal health outcomes, particularly for Black women

Senator Reverend Warnock: “The rate of maternal mortality is an ongoing and worsening crisis. Black women are particularly at risk in the state of Georgia, where they are three to four more likely to die related to childbirth or pregnancy than their white sisters… We can’t get this done soon enough.”

The bill introduction follows an alarming study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, which found maternal mortality doubled between 1999 and 2019, with most deaths among Black women
