I dont regularly watch it but people choose when and who to get uptight about
theres lots and lots of dark comedy on the internet

Rick And Morty has a cult following and became wildly popular in the last year or so. Even people that dont normally watch animated shows watch the show.
Apparently this is old. But now is resurfacing.
