It's two disappointing things about the Monica/Brandy story

1. They were girls from different backgrounds who beefed simply because they were raised differently.

2. That tension lingers well into adulthood and despite coming together for Verzuz, seemingly nobody is convinced the issue is resolved.

I wish we could see more black women in the public sphere genuinely get along without the constant banter of "they secretly hate each other". Foxy, Kim, Nicki, Cardi, Remy, Megan, Beyonce, Keri, Ciara etc. It really doesn't have to be this way and I refuse to believe that women cannot coexist in an industry where there's more than enough money and opportunities for everyone. The diva shit is truly toxic and unnecessary.
