COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

Central Valley California about to be redefined. Bum fuck red cities/ counties about to be tied to Stockton, Modesto, Fresno, & Bakersfield which contain more voting power and typically vote blue. This will be extremely interesting to watch play out in the long term for California.

Yeah cause having policies worked so well for Kamala.

Most voters don’t give a damn about policies or else we wouldn’t have had a whole Kamala ain’t black thread on this very site during the election.

I agree, policies should lead, but they don’t win elections.
People didn't like her for various reasons whether it's because she's a woman or something else

There are also a lot of stupid people. Case in point on why trump won again

Gavin Newsome would mop the floor with Kamala right now. And if people like Beshear actually mount a campaign and get out there he’d gain popularity and probably beat her.

Andy Beshear would not stand a chance on a national level. He's a Democratic Governor in a deep red state, but that appeal won't translate nationwide for the party.

As far as Newsom mopping the floor with Kamala? No. I don't think people realize how difficult it is to get 70 million votes. Not only that, you have to appeal to multiple spectrums across the board. There are Democrats like Bernie Sanders who will never win a nomination because he does not appeal to Black voters well enough. That's just one example. I'm not saying that Kamala would wash Newsom either. I am saying that it's pretty wild that people think that anybody can do what Biden, HRC, and Kamala did, and I'm here to say that if it were that easy, these other candidates would jump off the porch.

Any politician who thinks that they have a legitimate shot at winning the election for POTUS is going to take that shit. If we had a convention and Newsom was the nominee last summer, like Kamala was, Trump would've still won. Newsome would've also received fewer votes than Kamala got in her 100-day campaign.

My whole point about being #online is that I think people are severely overestimating popularity on the internet versus a real-life coalition that has been built.

There are only a handful of candidates in this country who can get 70 million votes in an election. That includes all parties. 70 million is a fucking ridiculous number. Kamala received 75 million, and Trump received 77 million. Right now, you cannot name 3 people outside of Trump, Kamala, and the Obamas who could pull 70 million votes. These are candidates that can appeal to enough of the voter base to be successful.

Also, for all the shit people are talking about Kamala losing, she lost by less than 2 million total votes. Niggas need to stop acting like this was a blowout. It was not. The margin in the swing states was less than a percentage point. Niggas acting like she lost the election by 20 million votes when the fact is that she lost within 2 million votes, and her campaign was only 100 days. So this idea that there are better candidates than her means that people think that there's Democrats sitting on the sidelines who can come into the game and pull 70 million votes.

I do not agree with that assessment. The numbers agree with me as well. I'm not being arrogant either. The numbers do not lie. People talking like the election in 2024 was a blowout is a lie. People saying that a candidate who lost within 2 million votes isn't good enough to run again is also a lie. The truth is in the numbers.

Here is another fun FACT. Kamala received more votes in 2024 in her 100-day campaign than Trump received in 2020. She was more popular by the numbers in 2024 than Trump was in 2020. Also, Biden beat Trump by 7 million votes!!!!!! That's 3 times the margain that Trump beat Kamala in a 100 day campaign when she was not even the incumbent POTUS.

I sure haven't because it's a dumb question. It's like asking who in the East has a chance at defeating the Indiana Pacers and going to the 2028 championship.

It's not a dumb question. It's literally a projection. That's why even on election night, the networks always put up the "projected" winner. They always say that they can project the results. That's.........what the question is about.

Also, you can quite easily project the winner of the East in 2028. My Cavs have all four of our All-Stars under contract through 2028, and we were the #1 seed in the East last season. Based on those "projections," one could reasonably predict that the Cavs would be the favorites to win the East in 2028.

Is there a primary going on right now that I don't know about? Have people started their campaigns? Do we even know who all has committed to run? Has Kamala even confirmed she's going to run?

It's August 2025. The midterms are scheduled for November 2026, with several special elections taking place before that. Any candidate who is considering 2028, already has their shit in order. Trump has really fogged people's brains about running a POTUS campaign. People really think that folks wait until after the midterms to start building. How do you think that there are candidates who are getting 70 million people to vote for them? They did not wake up one day and decide to run for POTUS. It takes years to build that shit, and yes, it is 100% happening right now.

Kamala has run for president twice and lost both times, and you're trying to sell her as some unstoppable juggernaut that can't be beaten based on some polling that might be moot 4 months from now.

Ok, let's look at both of her "losses". In 2020, she lost the nomination and ended up as the Vice President. That's a helluva loss but sure, it's an L.........

In 2024, she ran a campaign in 100 days and received the 3rd-highest vote total in POTUS election history. The only 2 times that anyone has ever received more votes than Kamal Harris in 2024 were Trump when he won in 2024 and Joe Biden when he won in 2020 with Kamala on the ticket as VP.

Now, I'm not calling her a juggernaut, but you're going to have to name some names if you're telling me that she's not as popular as the numbers clearly show that she is. My numbers are not based on polling. These are facts. These are results. The results say that Kamala Harris is the most popular Democrat right now. The results say that Kamala Harris has a larger coalition of voters than any candidate right now, including Donald Trump. The results also say that in the game of predictability, which is what polling and making political projections is all about, Kamala Harris is not only the safest bet politically, but she is by far and away the most popular, and she has the best resume. You can disagree with those things, but you cannot deny them and try to spin the results to mean something else.

Now, initially I asked you to name some names, so name some names nigga. Give me a list of names that are so much better than Kamala Harris as a candidate right now, and she me a path for them to get 70 million votes. I'll show you why it is going to be extremely difficult for anybody you name to get to 270.

Everybody thinks that these candidates are ready for the big stage until they get on that stage.

There are only two numbers to keep in mind.

270 and 70.

270 Electoral votes and AT MINIMUM 70 million total votes. That's the bar that has been set by Kamal Harris who you are portraying like a loser, which is crazy since you cannot name a single candidate that you can project to do better.

When it comes to this political shit, you like to talk like you're the smartest person in the room at all times. You be on some dumb shit a lot though.

I'm not really talking right now. I'm just giving niggas the spill on the numbers. Very little of what I said in my last few posts was my opinion. The majority of what I said is backed by factual data that we all have access to. It just offends niggas when the shit is right in their face and it's not what they wanted to see........

Gavin is the CLEAR favorite to win the nomination.

Why would you consider Gavin Newsom the clear favorite right now?

And that was clearly why he stayed out of the fray in the last cycle and let Kamala run unopposed after Joe was ushered off the stage.

Gavin Newsom stayed out of the way because had he been the nominee in 2024 and run a 100-day campaign, he would've lost by a larger margin than Kamala did. Imagine Newsom trying to be competitive in Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Michigan in 100 days with Kamal Harris sitting right there on the ticket with Biden. Do you think the Black vote would've turned out for Gavin Newsom more strongly than it did for Kamala in 2024? Because.....................

Kamala being on the top of any prospective poll at this point is more a reflection of name ID than anything else. Word to Hilary in '08.

That's only a small aspect. The real truth as to why she's on top of any poll is simply because she is popular. You can deny her popularity, but the numbers say that she is, in fact, a very popular candidate.

Again, I did not say that you have to like her. You cannot deny her popularity, though, and her coalition is growing, which is not good for anybody who has intentions on running against her.

This clown ass nigga here. After what he did to Kamala's face, you just knew that he was gonna be on his knees for the first white boy to swing it in his face.

These are the types of people that I am begging niggas to be wary of. I am not dissing Gavin Newsom. If he is the nominee in 2028, I would vote for him because I'm not fucking dumb.

I just want niggas to take a look at the reaction to what Gavin Newsom is doing right now versus what Kamala and HRC have done in the past. HRC specifically has stayed on Trump's neck since 2015. She is always on his ass, but people get on the internet and call her a robot or mention Super Predators, or say she's a terrible candidate. As soon as a white boy who looks like Christian Bale playing POTUS in a Hollywood movie does or says the same shit, people start spreading their cheeks.

HRC called Trump voters deplorable, and niggas were on the internet sounding like Dr. Umar, saying that she called us Super Predators.

Gavin Newsom's staff, not him directly, is trolling Trump on Twitter and niggas are doing a bunch of yes queen.......

What are we doing here?

Again,

Niggas have been saying wild shit about HRC, but let a white boy do the same thing.

I know someone more eloquent than I can make the correlation to Black people who place white men on a pedestal, even if it means going against women, and more specifically, Black women and their interests.

While I'm talking shit lololololololololololol

I did want to pitch the idea of having a Zoom session on ABW about politics.

One of the dudes I was in the Marine Corps with recently started a Facebook Group chat about the state of teh country and one of his main reasons was top gauge the temperature of those of us who were in the military together and what we think about shit that's being done right now in America that we literally were delployed all across the world to prevent. Needless to say, there were some very interesting perspectives.

One of the main things that I believe is that for us to live in a better country or make this society better, we need to be able to talk to each other to see what's really going on. I'd love to actually get some of y'all's thoughts on shit that has been going down because....................it's some shit going down in this muthafucka.
