Gavin is the CLEAR favorite to win the nomination. And that was clearly why he stayed out of the fray in the last cycle and let Kamala run unopposed after Joe was ushered off the stage.

Kamala being on the top of any prospective poll at this point is more a reflection of name ID than anything else. Word to Hilary in '08.

Literally everything Gavin has done for the past 5 years and probably a lot longer has been to position himself for 2028. Motherfucker has a podcast named "This Is Gavin Newsom" pumping out episodes right now.

Gavin is using his status as Governor to pit himself directly against Trump. Where is Kamala even at right now? Even if she were the favorite, she will soon find herself out of site, out of mind. So, a long way to go but learn from Trump, he never stopped running and neither should his opposition. For better and for much worse, attention is the number 1 currency in 2025.

Most voters don’t give a damn about policies or else we wouldn’t have had a whole Kamala ain’t black thread on this very site during the election.

I agree, policies should lead, but they don’t win elections.

Trump's has 2 big advantages over traditional politicians: He was ALWAYS in the public eye and right wing media like Fox "News" kept him propped up feeding him to their conservative audience with his brand of simple-minded elementary racist talk.

And unlike him, most politicians are private citizens and only become public figures when they run for office. when they leave office they go back to being private citizens, out the limelight. Because it's mentally & emotionally exhausting. Unless of course, you are an egotistical narcissistic sociopath who lives for attention and approval

Trump's ability to appear to racist bigoted ignorant immoral hypocritical low educated white Republicans and self-hating black coons is something that can't be duplicated by Democrats/Liberals/Progressive. This nation wasn't funded on love & unity, that's why it's so easy to divide the people with hate and outrage
