COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

I think you often willfully underplay how much race and racism affects people's thinking in this country.
I'm acknowledging it's effect, all I'm saying is it's not the only reason Trump won. That's a fact.
Because your response is coming off very much like "well how could they be racist if they voted for the Black guy?" Voting for Barack Obama wasn't this magical sign of people not being racist like white people love to look back at it as.
That's how u are choosing to take it. I provided an article that backs up my point. Obama won two consecutive terms. By the time Hillary came around ppl were sick of the establishment status quo on both sides.

Hillary was unpopular enough to make enough white people go from voting Obama to Trump, and enough black people to sit out completely.

People enjoyed trump shitting on all the Republicans (mostly white) and Hillary (white). To make the leap that im ignoring race is lazy and ignoring all my other points.

I didn't say that your other points weren't valid. Matter of fact I explicitly stated that there were other factors at play. But you mentioned trump and what led to people embracing him and going against the establishment. And the fact that there was alot of racism in how Obama was covered and the fact that the very reason trump even entered the political space in the way he did was through the racist birthed shit. It's not that your other points don't matter. It's just that the racism is the basis for a good majority of the backlash to and after Obama's presidency

Ok, so what were the other factors at play in your opinion? Besides obvious racism

Random thought lol

I wonder if those people that pray for trump on tv and crap actually take that home and do prayers for him during like family dinners

Does the cultist behavior go home and infect the kids and whatnot. Do they praise trump to their kids and family. I wonder if there's any pushback during family reunions meeting the distant family. Do they have family that make trouble and call them out on their bullshit
