So I went to Walmart yesterday.
Got a 24-pack Charmin Ultra Soft.........4 gallons of water...........and 5 bags of chips.
But that's neither here nor there.
Walmart's got metal detectors at the entrance that you have to go through once you enter the store.
Right after you get your basket.
Anyway, the guy before me goes through the metal detector.........it goes off.........nobody stops him.........and he keeps going.
Same thing happens when I'm leaving.
Someone's coming in........metal detector goes off...........nobody stops him either........and he keeps going too.
Here's the thing though.
They've got an employee assigned at the exit to check everybody's receipt that leaves.
Dude's sweating everybody.
Doesn't matter how much or little you have in your basket........that man's not letting you leave without seeing your receipt.
So I'm thinking...............dude's going all out to check receipts...........he sees two people set off the metal detector............but he doesn't do anything???
Now, I started to say something to him.
Something to the effect of:
"Bruh, you're really just gonna stand there and not do anything?"
Then I thought about it and can understand why that might not be a good idea.
Worst case scenario............dude's got a gun.
I'm not armed..........and the employee's probably not armed either.
So what sense does it make for either one of us to risk setting dude off and getting shot?
He's not security..........I don't even work there............so, again.........why even put ourselves at risk to begin with?
Now, I remember back in the day when Walmart used to have off duty cops in the store right at the entrance/exits.
Guess the cops cost too much, so then they just had security guards.
Now they don't even have security guards anymore.......just employees.
So, why even have metal detectors in the store if you're not gonna hire any kind of security or qualified personnel to do anything if the metal detector goes off?
Kinda defeats the purpose.
Moral of the story..............
Don't even think about getting out that store without showing your receipt.
The End.
