nah, that isn't it. the friend zone isn't real because it's basis is 1 party wanting more and the other not, correct? if so, all it is is 1 person not being true to their intention. there is already a word for that: lying. pretending. dishonesty. look @ that, I got 3! friend zone is a term sum1 came up with to feel better about pretending to be someones friend when what they really want is to fuck/a girlfriend.

Just cuz somebody wants/wanted to take it to another level with someone doesn't mean that's all they wanted. If we were good enough friends for me to want to take it to another lever and she felt like she wasn't ready for a relationship or just doesn't wanna take it there with me, I'm gonna understand and continue being her friend.

I'm sure they are actually friends. I believe a healthy relationship requires that on some level. So I don't think it's a lie they area friends, it's more like settling for 2nd place.
They would rather be around in some form them not at all, and hopefully there feeling are reciprocated

I know friendzone seems negative but it's not nesscaily. The only way it's bad if the person that put someone in the friend zone is leading the other party on in order to gain favors

To want more dies not mean they are downing what they have.
I'm sure you want more in life, that doesn't mean you don't appreciate what you already have
