im not disagreeing with you brotha lol
let me clarify, i think he's properly rated in the sense that people recognize his contributions to rap.
He has helped put houston on the map.
He has always had social commentary in his music, and talked about the good and bad sides of the dope game. Had his own style and never tried to sound like anyone else.
Has held his own on features with some of the greats in hip hop. (jay and nas both come to mind)
Even when it was discovered recently ( i honestly didnt know), that Willie D wrote all of his verses on the first couple of Ghetto Boys albums, he would still go on to create new music and continued to get better at his craft and some would argue he has a couple of classic albums under his belt. What more could anyone ask for?
